Atlantic Terminal - unfinished?

Who knows why the Atlantic Terminal is unfinished? I mean the street level at Hanson Place across from the WillyB Bank Bldg ... and those fenced off areas on Atlantic?

Comments

  • Probably because shit either happens really quick in this city, or it takes forever.
  • First, I remember reading that the main tenant in the upper levels is some type of disaster recovery/alternate worksite, so its buildout might have something to do with it.

Second, I'm quite sure that it's a clusterf**k over there right now, trying to plan for a wholly uncertain future, but needing to finish the work; how do you minimize waste/rebuilding?
  • Cause they're trying to come up with some way to make the damned thing uglier??
  • Subject: Some answer

    From some research:
MTA budget plan call for $10.3 million from the feds and $11 million from the MTA this year for Atlantic Terminal work. Expected completion is December 2006. So maybe out of that $21.3 million we'll see something like this:

  • That sure is ugly. All of it. That Bruce, he's all about the blend!
  • blech. did anyone see frank gehry's stupid face in the Times this morning? what a tool.

it was cool when he built a house out of garbage at low cost. when he designs buildings to look like they were made out of garbage, even though they're really expensive, that's significantly less cool.
