Shots fired, kids running on Carlton and Atlantic? — Brooklynian

Shots fired, kids running on Carlton and Atlantic?

I live across the street from the project on Carlton between Fulton and Atlantic, heard a few shots fired (which I always hope are just fireworks). By the time the next volley went off, I heard people yelling, and looked out the window just in time to see a few kids looking over their shoulders, running.

Police arrived on the corner along with an ambulance a few minutes later.

I never have any trouble over here but this is the second time it seems like there was some gun violence on the block.

Anyone else hear or see this?

  • You know i never felt those were real projects. Thats such a uncanny place for projects.
Its just that area around BAM and then u have fulton which is all artsy and then freekin nice football/track field 2 blocks away. I never look at those buildings as bad
  • Roc! I love your movies!
  • I believe when those buildings were constructed, they were intended to be middle class housing with a certain required percentage of lower income residents. As far as I know they're not city or federal housing projects.
  • The buildings just behind Atlantic Terminal are Mitchell-Lama housing as are the set on Fulton right next to the track. The building on Atlantic (the lighter colored one) was I believe built by the State as affordable housing.
