  • bump!

havent seen any great ones yet.
  • I think the best place to see great christmas decorations is in Dyker Heights. But there used to be a a bunch of houses on Prospect between 8th and PPW that used to put up some serious lights.
  • My living room! But then again, I'm in CH...so......I'll go crawl back now...
  • No such thing in park Slope. go check out Dyker heights if you want to see good decorations.
  • This PS house was mentioned in Gowanuslounge

  • There is a house on Fort Hamilton Parkway, I believe right on the corner of Chester Avenue that does it up pretty good every Christmas.
  • RE: Mamacita's reply, there are mini versions of the manger madness around the Slope. I've seen nice ones on 8th Ave between 3rd and Flatbush. My guess is the closer you get to 3rd Ave and below the more you will see. I doubt it's anything close to Dyker Heights but they're still nice in a tacky way to look at.

  • One house on 9th St between 6th and 7th Ave is decorated.
  • there are some moving illuminated deer on 6th street, and an inflatable santa.
  • inflatable santas, who sell those? Babeland.

well since he only comes once a year I guess they dont sell too well ;)
  • Definitely Dyker Heights....the slope is too tasteful. Dyker Heights goes WAY over the top. Some people have invested thousands of dollars on their displays.
  • dyker heights is mostly italian ,who are festive and celebrate holidays.

    slopers celebrate parking spaces.

In fact, if Jesus was born in the slope, the three wise men would have been a lawyer, accountant and an illegal nanny, with a double stroller.
  • If Jesus was born in the slope, I'd believe in him.

    :-)
  • mangers are hard to come by in the slope. Markowitz got the last one.
  • That's funny, but true, actually, God was the first absentee parent.

Not really. There were quite a few before that: Zeus sired a bunch of children, as did quite a few of the other Greek gods. I'm sure the same is true in other ancient mythologies that predate the new testament.

Zeus wasn't powerful enough to sire himself though.

Sad but true. Decorating your home for Christmas has nothing to do with taste. Likewise, the 4th of July. You will hardly ever see a flag displayed on the homes in Park Slope either.
