Meeting room to rent, weekday evenings? — Brooklynian

Meeting room to rent, weekday evenings?

daniel
edited November -1 in Park Slope
I'm looking for a place in the neighborhood (or Prospect Heights, Boerum Hill, Carrol Gardens, Brooklyn Heights, etc) that has a medium-sized room that a non-profit group could use for meetings on weekday evenings. We'd need tables and chairs, but not much else in the way of amenities. Ideally, we'd like to use the space from 6 or 7PM until 11 or 12PM twice a month. Any ideas on spaces like this? The group would range in size from 15 to 25 people.

Comments

  • The Montauk club on 8th ave rents out space for things like this.
  • how about a church?
  • I was going to suggest a local church/synagogue
    Also the YM or YWCA
  • Try Camp Friendship on 8th Street off 6th Avenue
  • Try the public library - one's on Cadman Plaza W. in Brooklyn Heights
  • 2-possibilities, both in the slope: astoria federal has a meeting room at the corner of 7th and prez.. and old first church has a big space at 7th and carroll
  • Thanks for all of the great ideas! Hopefully one or two of them will pan out.
  • Subject: Free Meeting Rooms in Brooklyn Public Library

Every library has a meeting room and a meeting room policy. Usage is free. Check with your local branch.
