Towing on 16th Street/PPW

Came home last night to see signs saying they'd be repaving today! Now, of course, the street is full of cars that will be towed. If your car is on 16th Street between PPW and 10th Avenue, MOVE IT NOW.

    yeah, they did that with me in regards to a marathon.

    Woke up one day and everyone was running....then it hits me 15 min later "where are all the cars? Wheres my car?!"

    Cop said they had the signs up for a week and I told him he was lying to his face. Cop friend of mine says they put them up last minute all of the time.

    Husband called 311 and they said putting up notices the night before was standard. But not to worry, they assured, the cars aren't impounded, they're just moved to somewhere else in the neighborhood.

    This is hilarious -- they came, they towed, they put up signs saying "No Parking THURSDAY"!

    The signs were there last night, they replaced the "no parking Wednesday" signs. They must have put them up pretty late.
    On Wednesday, shortly after 7AM a police car was driving around the neighborhood, announcing over the loud speaker that the cars on 16St will be towed, if not moved timely. I woke up fearing they were warning of a hurricane, like the do in the Midwest :)
