OK.....HERE WE GO.....I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU ALL FEEL ABOUT THIS,BUT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU CAN'T SIT DOWN IN YOUR LIVING ROOM ANY MORE AND WATCH TV WITH YOUR KIDS,IN THIS CASE WITH MY 10 YR OLD MICHAEL, WITHOUT SOMETHING EMBARESSING OR DOWN RIGHT INAPROPIATE FROM COMING ON THE T.V. IT DOSN'T MATTER IF IT'S THE 6:00 NEWS OR EVEN THESE SO CALLED FAMILY CHANNELS,BECAUSE SOME OF THESE COMERCIALS ARE JUST TOTALLY WILD. LIKE THE ONE I SAW LAST NITE FOR THE FIRST TIME.

I saved it to my desktop so far and am now downloading it to photo bucket. From there I should be able to post it the right way and send it n emails instead of a link.

Damn - almost finished my post and hit something screwy - God knows where it went.
Janet - I have a younger brother named Joe. He is 44 and lives in N.C., near Greenville. My older brother is named Mike. He's 55 and still lives in Brooklyn. I'm in the middle at 52. My mother's name is Wanda. She was very active in St. John's stuff for many years...Rosarians, PTA and she was a Den mother with Stella Brown, Angie Piccolo and Reggie Gaeta for my brother Mike and Jimmy Brown and Mattie Gaeta. My Mom is also very close friends with Tina Barrett who I'm sure you know.
Susuie - if you see Joey Orlando's younger brother, mention me to him. Tell him to tell Joey that I was his girlfriend Moira's friend. We went to OLPH high school together.
I stayed home from work to decorate & get my tree up...it hasn't happened yet!! Loretta -

Loretta. My mother Jo Horan was involved with most of those things also. Yes, I just saw Tina Barrett when I was up for the reunion. Joey had blond hair, right?? He used to come over to 21st St all the time and hang out with me. I was much older than him, but he was so cute. Guess he had nothing better to do at the time, lol.

THERES A MIDDLE AGE GUY(COULD BE ANY ONE OF US),GREYING HAIR,MATURE GOOD LOOKING MAN,AND NEXT TO HIM A YOUNGER LOOKING WOMEN-30 ISH-ALSO GOOD LOOKING. JUST THEN,I HEAR THE GUY SAY"I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER TRY OR NEED THIS,BUT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH TRYING THIS NEW"MALE ENHANCEMENT"PRODUCT.NOW I'M TRYING TO MAKE BELIEVE I DON'T HERE THIS,BUT MY SON IS ALL EARS NOW,AND HANGING ON EVERY WORD. -

Just a quickie again - saw Suzie's note before logging off.. Yes Suzie - EAT FOR A CAUSE, especially Sweets! (Let me know when you eat the new CHOC-COVERED Milano's - OMG). Did you ever eat the stuffing balls? (Not going there).

my favorite as a kid. Love the black and white. They also remade
"Journey to Center of Earth" - great original we all saw at RKO Prospect.
Re TV being appropriate. Even "Arby's" is sexual (my 'x' isn't working on computer - had to bang it - shut-up Suzie)... Anyway - man lying in bed and his wife is dressing up for his birthday... She comes out with Arby's
uniform and a meal.... He gets an erection - in the form of an Arby's hat
stiffening on his head... His big head, not the little head you guys usually
think with. I was surprised their marketing went that way (not offensive
to me).
Finally - JOEY - I realize you have been channeling SOFIA lately. God rest her soul!
RE: Terry's Elf -- I did not know that was Janet and Judy... I was going to ask Ter who the others were with us. I had to go back and look - still was unsure of Judy. Oh well - she still did a great job!!!

Janet - I remember your Mom. She used to dress up at Halloween when she gave out candy, didn't she?
My brother Joe was up for Thanksgiving, which we had at my Mom's house. Every time I drive in from the Island, I say I'm making my Haj to Mecca.
Joseph did have blonde hair (now he has none) and he was a little cutie. I will mention you to him, I talk to him frequently.
You mentioned the firehouse and FDS commercials. Was it hard being the only (or one of very few) woman firefighters back then? I have always heard that the men really hassled the women..true or built up way out of proportion?
I went to John Jay college and worked for the U.S. Customs Service as a patrol officer when I graduated. There were already a few women by this time (late 70's) so it wasn't to bad, but it was still a man's world. How far we've come. -

Did you know Rita Matula. She also worked for customs and was from 21st and 6th Ave. I went to John Jay College also from 1976 to 79. -

Susie - (spelled it right this time!). Customs was great but I only stayed a few years. Biology caught up with me and I quit when my daughter was born. I had met my husband on the job and we decided that two parents working crazy days & hours wasn't the greatest way to raise a child, so I quit.
Stayed at home with my 2 kids until the mid 90's then went back to work as a claims examiner for a medical malpractice insurance company...Customs was a lot more fun!!

Loretta, about the guys in the firehouse, yes, most were idiots. They didn't harass me too much since my husband was also on the job. My friend Cathy's uncle was also Chief of Department John O'Rouke, and they weren't sure if I had any pull with the guy. My neighbor, who you would know, Jack Devine was also a big chief and they knew that I was very close to him. I had a lot of protection.
The only thing I knew for sure was that some one or more used to pee in my turnout coat. My husband didn't believe me until I brought it home and he smelt it, yikes !!!!!!!!! -
Janet - yes I knew Rita. She started a few years before me and stayed, I think, until she retired. She was great. The guys used to call her Toots Macalla, private eye. Wow, that was like a lifetime ago.
I was at John Jay almost at the same time you were. I graduated in 1980...had to delay graduation for a semester because I actually got the Customs job through an internship w. John Jay and that was a part of the deal, it was like work a semester, school a semester than work & school for the last semester. Loved the school..no B.S. just in and out! -
