Coat Buttons in PS? — Brooklynian

Coat Buttons in PS?

swngnmonk
edited November -1 in Park Slope
So I dug out my old pea coat, and realized that I never replaced a number of buttons I had lost. The dry cleaners around me that do tailoring don't have replacement buttons, anyone have any ideas as to who might?

Thanks!

  • Brooklyn Mercantile?

On 5th ave near 4th st.
  • Or, try the thrift shop, The Beacon Closet, 5th & ?. Just maybe you can buy another Pea coat & use the buttons on your coat. And don't forget
the Salvation Army on Flatbush & Bergen.
Best of luck & happy holidays
  • you might call fiber notions, on union and 7th. don't know if they'll have them, but the woman there is nice and might know who does.
  • There used to be a bunch of notion/fabric stores on Bridge and Hoyt Sts. off of Fulton but I really do not know if they are still there.

You might want to take a trip out to Boro Park (D line) and check out 13th and New Utricht Aves. They have quite a few out there.
  • There used to be a sewing shop in PS on 7th maybe near 10th-ish. Not sure if it's still there.
  • If you find yourself around Macy's in the city, try M&J Trims, at around 35th or 36th Street on 6th avenue.
  • Not sure if this store on Union near 7th has buttons (btw, this article mentions that the sewing shop I was thinking of has gone out of biz; it was 7th and 4th not 7th and 10th):
