Man, it will be so nice when Fulton doesn't look like a disaster area any =more.
-
It has been a really, really long time. I think they were waiting to see how the Atlantic Yards project was going to end up. Now that it has pretty much tanked, I think they made a decision about how much infrastructure they would have to put in (which is not much).
-
Hooray. Now Fulton can begin the long road to its full potential, which is huge.
-
I thought this was an announcement that Walgreens opened
( -
Fulton St is almost done, Walgreens has opened and so has Choice Greene finally.Yeah I cant wait till Fulton is complete with the planned trees and hopefully new businesses that will open on that stretch from Vandy to Classon.Oh...did Conways close? I went for toiletries and the gate was down. I sure missed that one as the construction deterred me from going down that route.

wait, walgreen's on myrtle is open?

yeah, conway closed months ago. they did a clearance sale that went on for some time - but i didn't know that they were closing until i just never found it open anymore even during their usual hours. -
i'm by the clinton-wash stop on fulton. they need to fix the damn sidewalks (please)!
-
I can only hope that they rebuilt the infrastructure with an eye to future expansion. The last thing we need is another round of this in five years. I heard some of the sidewalks won't be done until this spring. I hope they can expand the green space around the Putnam /Grand triangle - otherwise it is gfoing to be a lot of concrete there.

They did not. The necessary sewer and water work needed to accommodate AY still remains to be done. So if that project moves forward, expect at least one more round of this.

so what the hell took them so long? I was under the impression that the sewer work was part of it. And I agree with putnamdenizen that some more green space on Putnam and Grand would be great.

AS long as that green space is maintained because I will be damned if that triangle didnt have an abundance of very big critters scurrying around in broad daylight and oblivious to people walking right past them as they ran by.I called 311 several times and was told poison would be set. I zoom by now so I havent had a chance to see if they still remainThat being said...glad to see they have marked the streets for two way traffic so soon, very soon hopefully things will be back to normal.Hopefully.

Gosh, I'm getting old. I remember when that triangle had a building in it, before the city tore it down to make a home for the rats. Guess that's what passes for progress in NYC.

Well I dont know if it is official or not but cars were parking and driving both ways on Fulton St from Bedford to Washington(where I turned off).I dont think the buses got the memo though. They were still operating on Atlantic while a few school kids were waiting for the bus on Fulton and Washington going towards Utica. Guess they didnt put back some signs or notify transit or some driver decided he was reinstating the two way and others followed.Whatever the case....I am glad.

I saw the cars going both ways today too. I never noticed how narrow for a 2 lane street it was until then.
It always takes buses a little longer to get with it. The B57 was still bypassing Flushing for a good month even when the road was back to normal. -
I heard the B26 is going to stay on the atlantic ave diversion permanently. The B25 is going to run on Fulton eventually.

Well that's totally stupid what they're doing to the B26. It makes no sense. And I don't only say that cause I want the bus to stop at my corner going east, even if I do. -
i think they widened the sidewalks and the streets are more narrow cause I thought the same thing, what a narrow 2 way street.
