Hello everyone! Any here on a condo/co-op board that is currently working with (or has hired) a great management company? Looking for recommendations for a building in the area. Thanks!

    Oh, I'm sorry I can't help you either... but I thought I'd chime in the nick of time to mention that we are "self managed" also.

    I'm sure everyone was wondering: why hasn't drunken revival spoken up and not being able to help? Is the internet broken or something?

    How big is your building? Who do you currently use?

    If you are a small building management is usually unfordable and you might consider taking the class in Small Building Management offered by the Council of New York City Cooperatives and Condominiums http://www.cnyc.coop

    (no connection to them, my building doesn't even belong)

    If you are large enough to afford management I can tell you that it is as much about the individual manager that you have as much or more so than the company. I used to work for Advanced Management Service and they might be OK for you but make sure you interview the indiviual manager that would be assigned to your building. Also check out cooperator.com and habitatmag.com

    I'm not on my co-op board so I know very little about our management company (BPC located at 80 Livingston St). I do know, however, that the board is mostly pleased with the service and think the company is better than its predecessor (don't remember the name).

    my building uses Andrea Bunis Management, they seem pretty good. Another one in the neighborhood is Metro Management, they were also pretty solid.

    AT 70+ apts you should be able to get decent management. Try my suggestions I posted above. Also, if you can wait, the Coop and Condo Expo http://www.coopexpo.com/ is coming at the beginning of April. I it is free and you will be able to talk to several different managers there. The individual manager is going to dictate your quality of service more than the company itself. You want to know how many buildings and of what size he or she is managing in Brooklyn 6-7 buildings of 70-100 units each is a lot of work to manage. And don't get locked into a contract. At AMS the contract was wrten to allow either party out after notice
