7th and what?
I had dumplings for dinner tonight. Like you, though I prefer the 5/$1 type -
Check their twitter -

They were on 7th Ave and 1st yesterday.
I am a huge fan of their dumplings (both pan fried and steamed). The ingredients are fresh and they are not greasy. I prefer the pork and duck versions.
I also get to support a fellow NYU alum, it's a win win! -
Wow-wish I had seen this yesterday! is it just luck of the drawer as to when they come to our nabe?

A rickshaw dumpling truck with twitter.
Only in NY (and maybe Hong Kong). -

Only if the dresser is in on it.

Too funny. Does the waffle truck have twitter? I want to try those waffles sometime. Has anyone tried them?

I love the little knife truck that comes around. I had all my kitchen knives sharpened by him. Love it.
We need more truck service. -
Does anyone have a goto place in Chinatown, the 5/1 type?
-
This is a really innovative way to use twitter (its a hell of a lot more exciting than hearing about someone's day at work.) I hope more of those roving delivery services start using this!

Totally agree with you, Carmen! People can use their facebook status or AIM to bitch about their day. -

One place that I really like is on the LES (not Chinatown). It's called Vanessa's dumpling house on Eldridge btw Broome/Grand.
It used to have a window you could order thru, but they did a remodeling recently and shut down the front window and made more seats. They also changed from 5/$1 to 4/$1. I guess they have to pay for their upgraded digs. Either way, it's still a bargain.
A lot of Chinese people in there, which to me is always a good sign of any ethnic restaurant.
They also make some kick ass scallion pancakes. -
