hrm. try chinese food? order lots of soups? the one on vandy near the met sells big sizes.
also, I couldn't swear it but I thought le gamin had smoothies or something. -

its a bit late but fisher & diaz could deliver something to you for a small fee! -
I've had Tom's deliver to me when I've been sick. They have good soups. And they deliver during the day ('til 4PM except Sundays).

Tom's is a good idea. I've never had them deliver to me... I should go get a menu. I ended up getting udon soup from Gen which was perfect
Speaking of menus... I only have 6 or so. Is there a good place online that compiles them?? -

ooh, the dreaded "bklyn's not part of nyc" comment....hold me back, hold me back....

I used to walk around saying, "well, it's about time I got into the city for class." But then I realized that I hated the idea that Manhattan was "the city" and that Brooklyn was "Brooklyn," idiomatically speaking. (Which is to say that everyone knows the City includes all 5 boroughs, but everyone says "the city" to indicate Manhattan). So I decided to start calling here, "the city" and to refer to Manhattan solely as "the island." Mostly because it's disparaging.

If you are still sick and looking for soup to be delivered, I was sick last week and got really good homemade chicken soup delivered from Los Viejos Amigos on Vanderbilt.

Traditionally, people generally do call Manhattan "the city." Not necessarily implying that you're going to the actual NYC once you cross that bridge, but that's just what it is. It's not one of those things that bothered me, unlike the Manhattanite attitude towards not-Manhattan as Bumblefuck.

they only do this in a vague attempt to justify their high rents. hehehehe. -
this post is probably too late to suggest a magic delivered elixir to the o.p., but my fave sick delivery is kiku's hot and sour miso soup. it is full of yummy healthy things. i often get it with the sea bass tempura appetizer. and some sake, which i convince myself is okay for the ailing. th soups at gen are great, too, but i've never had them delivered.

2 things:
we need to compile a list of the evil, should-be-blacklisted (just kidding, sorta) restaurants that only deliver to underhill and stop.
I call Manhattan "the city". ironically. no, I'm not kidding. I also try my hand at a Brooklyn accent when I say it. I fail miserably and generally people laugh when I say it. cause, really, I'm fuckin' kidding. but yeah. I think I'm going to take a page from the book of muteflute and start calling BK the city and the city the island. can't wait to confuse the fuck out otta folks: "er, so, you're going to work on staten island?"
also, and this is completely off topic, but I just saw a hilarious expedia.com commercial. I mean, like, LOL worthy. -

But y'all: "the island" is Long Island! You've got to come up with something else! :P -

hrm. 'going to the 'hat"?

not sure I could say that aloud.
