super savers on 7th avenue - SALE
hey all,
just wanted to let everyone know that they are having 25% off EVERYTHING at super savers on 7th between union and president. i stopped by for a few things tonight (i always try to get everything i can there instead of duane reade) and was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive my total was. i asked if they were having a sale and she said yes...25% off everything till at least the new year (i missed the huge sign outside in the window).
what a nice surprise.
great to stock up on toiletries, etc...it's not everyday you can get that kinda stuff with a nice discount like that.

Yes, a "nice" surprise. I'm sure it has nothing at all to do with how bad business has been for them lately. Any PS residents who prefer shopping at Super Savers instead of the big drug store chains should step up and spend more money there. Actually I'm going to suggest doing that at all the small stores in the area, you guys have no idea how bad it's gotten for some of them.

Personally, I would rather spend my money at Neergard's than SuperSavers and I did just that yesterday. But, at least Neergard's is a neighborhood store.
-
Hey, spend it at whatever store you'd like to stick around.

isn't super savers a neighborhood store?
i've been checking in on my favorite neighborhood stores lately...patronizing them as regularly as i can and checking to see if they are doing ok.
so far, so good but i'm absolutely sure there are many which are suffering badly.
wish there was a way to know which ones, before it's too late... -
I wasn't implying that it wasn't, just saying I prefer neergard's.
We tried very hard this holiday season to shop locally, we bought a lot of gifts at Little Things, Toy Space and Tarzian West. -
I go to SuperSavers too -- they're local, they're nice, and they sell handy odd bits of hardware in addition to drug store stuff.
I hope this is them raising some cash flow and clearing out stock for the new year... -
We did a lot of local shopping/eating on Christmas Eve. One of my favorites is Sterling Place on 7av bet 10 & 11st. Otto is nice which is next door. For men Razor on 5th ave has a nice selection. Love Under the Pig for antiques.
