5th Avenue Market on Berkeley
Just a quick shout-out to the 5th Avenue Market on the corner of Berkeley, I believe, which has to be the most loaded bodega-on-steroids I've ever encountered. Has anyone ever seen the ice cream selection at this place?
This had to have been the first time a corner bodega has ever played an integral part in my Christmas shopping.
Anyways, not shilling at all......just wondering who the hell else has been spending way too much money there....

Their sandwiches are unbelievable too. And they deliver pretty much anywhere at any time.

The guys who work there are always friendly. And it's open 24 hrs a day.
Great beer selection, too. -
it's the most amazing bodega.
heartily agree. my only place for late night food runs.
just wish there was something similar up on 7th.
worth the walk down the hill though... -
If I didn't belong to the Coop, I'd do most of my shopping there...

(It really is an astonishingly well stocked deli. And the dudes are totally civil, even at 5 in the morning.) -
Love those two dudes up in there!
They are always BLAZED! -
the little short dude is my fave
he is alwayssssss high
i love that store
and they are always listening to freestyle on 103.5 which brings me back to being a 13 year old growing up in BK in the late 80's -

I don't actually think that's true -- the short guy has that overworked 12-hour-shifts look to me.

This place is a really well-cared-for, super well-stocked deli, not a fucked-up-no-merch-but-drugs spot. Having lived around the later, I really appreciate 5th Ave Deli, and hate to see you writing stuff on a message board that could really harm their business. Drugs = illegal, and I don't think they are doing that at this place. -
In Pitu's defense, I really don't think they're doped. In fact they're usually way more on top of things then I am and are utter sweethearts and probably the best bodega/deli in PS and beyond. Seriously their Bada Bing sandwich is amazing.
I've deleted my post because I can see now within the context that it was silly and meant in jest, which in retrospective, as we all know the internets, would be taken literally.
Carry on and try the portabello, mozz and pesto sandwich, you'll thank me. -
im sorry
but i love those guys and that store
i dont think that anything bad is being said here
i think its wonderful how awesome they are
that being said
you can delete my post all together
i dont know how......
i dont go on here that often -
But seriously, when do those two guys sleep?
Howdy, Stranger!
