What's the rationale behind bringing your dog into stores?

the thred was just find until I joined in, with my lack of cred.

You ruin everything. And you eat all the fries.
-
And then Cootievore blames me for it, too!!
-
you can't smoke and eat fries! I feel its my obligation to protect you from yourself. ....I only wish I had a way to protect us from Mama

Two words: Surgical Masks. -

Please do not compare cormarants to dogs. You have lost all credibility.
They are in the Slope....
Buttermilk and some other bars welcome dogs with the same enthusiasm.
LOL.
You had already showed your respect for others by stating you brought your dog into stores where it was ALLOWED.
so the my dog is better than your kid vibe kinda confused me.
just sayin.
i also find it hard to believe your dog isnt a projectile drooler.
just look at those jowls lol -

My credibility has been questioned on an obscure sarcastic website, on a thread regarding bringing dogs into stores.
I must fight to the death. -

Only because you ate all the fries. -

It's all that Myrna minx's fault!
I must fight to the death. -
yup, its true: Mama ate all the fries.
Carn and I were covering for her because she is so close to death, and did not want Ana to finish her off.
...but my co-dependency is over, and I'm not comfortable with all of the blame being where it belongs: Mama. -
Just for that! Next time I'm going to lick your burger!

Damn, I must say, I'm seriously impressed--you're just so tough and blase about this whole "Brooklyn Life" thing. You're that kind of dude that we natives sit around and envy like "Wow, if only we had cojones like that dude to deal with living in Brooklyn." Seriously though, you've got to excuse us, not everyone had the opportunity to grow up on as tough and tolerant of a cul de sac as you did. You have my respect bro, man to man, hats off.
Do me a favor Obamanut, edit my "quote" correctly. The cormorant link was for Mamacita, not the quip about needing to grow thicker skin. That was for you and all the other whiners.
That was for you and all the other "cormorants."

Mama, I think we have a miscommunication. As noted elsewhere, the Beaver refers to her burger as her um, "beaver".
Shouldn't you two be discusssing this via PM, or at least in the lounge?
P.S. Not that there is anything wrong with that. -
I have been guilty of this a couple of times, but under the same circumstances:
It's only been the indoor ATM.
It's always freezing cold or raining.
No one else is occupying the space.
And just in case someone comes in while I am at the kiosk, both dogs are already seated in the "heel" position. They're not allowed to wander, sniff, etc. I'm in, I'm out; no harm, no foul, as far as I can see.
I don't make it a habit of taking the dogs on errands with me, as I don't much fancy the idea of tying them up outside for any number of reasons. -
Okay, so here's a question. I'm leash training my cats. Right now, they will walk on leash although they are not so much into the heel and stay thing. Can I take them into stores with me? Is it okay for my cats to rub their ass on the merchandise at Brooklyn Industries, or make themselves comfy on the couch in Soda? They have been known to go after small dogs (I've got big hood cats), and hiss at anyone stupid enough to try and punk them on the street (this is what happens when you take in feral kittens from CH).
Just trying to figure out if the opinions change based on the species. -

Somehow I don't see this in the same way as the woman I saw yesterday who was browsing the racks at Macy's with her dog in tow. I bring my bicycle into the ATM, but I wouldn't bring it into Macy's.
It's only been the indoor ATM.
Would that be a good rule of thumb? I just did a brief, incomplete mental check and it seems to work. Seems like almost any place I would not bring my bicycle inside would also not be a good place to bring a dog inside (pet stores/bike stores being the exceptions: no bike, yes pet/vice-versa). -
I'm in agreement w/obamanut. I was in Bloomingdale's last weekend and now instead of small dogs peeking out of handbags you have large dogs on leashes. The store was packed and you had to be careful not to step on the dogs feet.
Ridiculous.
Haven't seen it much in PS especially not in supermarkets. You can't go in without shoes why should you bring in your dog.
Living in Brooklyn does not require living publically what many consider private unless you're a homeless person. This is Park Slope by the way land of the entitled liberal. I grew up when Park Slope was a tough part of Brooklyn not what it is today and yet I still don't want kids pissing in the street or dogs being allowed in stores/supermarkets. -

Actually, it's PROJECTION. Please try to insult me with the correct ICD-9 codes.
OK - you seem pretty angry. Holidays have you down?
And the term for it is deflection. You try to justify your rude and inconsiderate behavior by pointing out the failure of others. Yes some kids are annoying, but that does not have anything to do with your dog.
I'm sorry I pretty much pinpointed your child's behavior. It really was just a guess. Happy New Year!
I wasn't diagnosing you, but obviously I struck a nerve. I'm sorry you are so lonely this holiday season.

Unacceptable. -

If it makes you feel better Jamzers wants me to put a leash on him and take him to Costco. I have my limits, though.

I did my best, but apparently they actually want to talk about dogs in stores.
Unacceptable. -

Funny, I was in Bloomie's on Saturday afternoon and noticed the same thing.
Ridiculous. -

Dude you were drunk. You noticed nothing of the sort. -

The two things are not mutually exclusive. -
I was just in Bloomies at lunch. Not drunk and no dogs. However, there was an asshole with a giant double stroller shoving his way past a poor old woman in a wheel chair. Both kids had snot covered faces.

Now I understand why you like dogs better than people.
