this is awesome! i've been flying my pride flag during PRIDE and during our annual block party in september... the owners down the block are lesbians who rent their top floor apt to friends of mine and more still at 699 Classon, 551 and 555 Prospect Place! its wonderful to see!

I'm up for! A couple of drinks without having to look sober on the subway home is the "makings" of a good night out

  • I wanted to revive this post.
Who wants to take a trip to starlight? I'd be interested in meeting the other gay people in this hood.

I know there are a lot of us.

I would like to be in on that, too. I can tell you that there are plenty of gays here in Clinton Hill. I've seen several female couples hand-in-hand as well.

Also been called faggot a couple times :(
  • Hmmmm. . . not many people are biting. I guess its a bad time of year for this kind of thing.

So. . . yeah. I know some of those gay people over in Clinton Hill--but I am interested in meeting up with the ones here, in Crown Heights. Its a little surprising that you have been called a faggot on more than one occaision in Clinton Hill. I always figured it to be more tolerant over there. I have lived in Crown Heights for quite some time- never been called a faggot, not once.
  • well, feel free to PM me next time any/all of you want to go to Starlite. while I may be vaguely straight, I love that place. and I'm happy to escort a group effort to the establishment ... :)

i have also been called "faggot" and i am female... go figure. just on my bike though, if i remember correctly.

my girlfriend has been called "faggot bitch"
AND we're up for a trip to Starlite
    :D
do you know what music/dj/party on what nights?
  • oh GOOD. people are responding.
i get some strange looks-- which is par for the course, but i have never been out and out called a faggot.

I will research what nights are good to go-- i have been here on the weekend though and it tends to be pretty crowded. it would probably be better to go on a weeknight--- perhaps a thursday???
  • I'd be up for it too, but my schedule's pretty nutty lately -- I'll just keep my fingers crossed that it ends up being on a night I can go!
  • We are a gay couple that has lived in CH since 2001...and we are White!! We've never had a problem...would we be very out of place at Starlite?? Just wondering...

doubtful. I mean, you'd be in the minority, but everyone is pretty welcoming.
