Meet Your Mod (and help her!)

OK kids, we're going out now. EmilyM is in charge, so be nice! I don't want to hear about you giving her any backtalk. You can watch Matlock JUST THIS ONCE, but then I want you in bed, do you hear me? Emily, we'll be back around midnight. Help yourself to the Snackwells.

(PS. We could use some help moderating this board for at least a week. Send a private message if you can help. I'm anticipating multiple volunteers, so don't get ticked off if I don't respond to you, OK?)

  • Congrats Emily!
    I'll try to behave.

BTW, Andy lets us smoke in the house and eat ice cream every night. :P
  • OMG, she's going to ban me. I can feel it.
  • PH34R MY MODLY POWERZ!!!

No, really. I just volunteered because I mod on another phpBB board and sort of know how to work the system. And all I do over there is split threads that get too digressive, which no one over here seems to care about. Eat all the ice cream you want, my friends. (Though I do feel obligated to mention that smoking is a dangerous and unhealthy habit.)

    Carry on, now.
  • splitting threads is a cool idea. How do you do that?

Oh wait, I'm not supposed to be here.
  • Ha ha, I bet you're still here.

At the bottom of each page there are four buttons. In order from the left, they are: Delete, Move, Lock, Split. Delete is obvious; Move puts it under another subforum (but we don't really have those), and Lock means that no one can post any more replies.

If you choose "Split" it will ask you what you want the new thread to be called. You enter something like "Split from gym thread: Things we actually LIKE in ProHo." Then it has check boxes for each post in the thread. There are two ways to split. Either you can choose the first post that went offtopic and split everything below it into a new thread, or you can manually check off which posts go in the new thread, if there are some ontopic ones mixed in. It makes more sense if you try it out. I made a practice thread in the Park Slope section.
