a burger eaten while lying on the kitchen floor too drunk to stand up?

    If only..

    No, Steinhoff.
  • So, tell all, where did you go?
  • We ended up going to Rachel's, great food, but lousy service. Their Fish Tacos are really good!
  • Went to Rose Water - 5 courses - 2 1/2 hours - great food, great service. Highlights were tuna belly crudo, sturgeon with poached quail egg, poussin/young chicken confit, and a chocolate peanut butter crunch bar with gelato and an apple napoleon served with a chilled glass of IceWine. We had a bottle of gerwurtzaminer from the Finger Lakes region of NY - really good.

    Luv RW!
  • went to Giorgio's in Gramercy. It was ok - not great. We were going to go to Irving Mill, but it was prix fixe and I didn't find much i wanted to eat
  • American caviar, King Crab legs, and Dom Perignon Vintage 2000 at home.
  • geez, booklaw, thanks for the invite!
  • Seriously, jeesh!
  • It was way too expensive even for just my wife, our daughter and myself... much less to invite everyone else!

On another thread I offered my kitchen for the next Brooklynian get together. There were zero takers. The invitation stands.
  • i think that sounds fine!
  • We went to Primo Atto, they were serving their regular menu along with the prix fixe. We had filet mignon and lobster.

that sounds yummy. I want to try that place. Did you enjoy it?
  • It was great as always, we even got our drinks comped. I guess they were feeling generous since it was NYE and we are almost regulars considering how many times we have been there now.

Flexi-if you go, you have to have the mozzarella appetizer, it is sooo good:

    Girandola Di Mozzarella
homemade mozzarella filled with asparagus, roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes and broccoli rabe

I've heard about that mozzarella. I hate peppers am "eh" on asparagus, but love sun dried tomatoes and broccoli rabe. ...and, of course, cheese.

I'll have to go check it out and see if they will take those nasty peppers off for me (picking peppers off still leaves the juice/taste)
  • it's not actual peppers, they use a red pepper spread that I think is yummy beyond belief! But, I guess if you don't like the juice/taste, that is definitely not going to work for you! We have had other appetizers and they are all good and large enough to share between 2 people easily.
  • I ended up at Sidecar - got a table at 9:30 within 5 minutes & had GREAT service & really great food. Sidecar is my new fave now.
