has anyone heard of milliondollarbrooklyn.com?

There was story not too long ago about a young guy in England, Alex Tew, who came up with the idea of selling an adverstising page charging by the pixel (http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com). It succeeded wildly and spawned lots of copy cats like this one apparently. This seems to be one of those ideas that shouldn't work but has/does. The final pages - those that have sold well - are so cluttered and tacky it makes me wonder why anyone would want to advertise there.
