Subject: $25 Carpenter for Hire - Review

Jeffree Clark is a remarkable carpenter. He has just completed 3 window benches (whose tops lift and double as terrific storage spaces) in our small studio kitchen, and they are wonderful. He was referred to me by another overloaded carpenter friend, and he sent on his resume with reference letters and links to web pages highlighting the work he has done. While it was a pretty straightforward project, which was completed over the course of 3 work days, he was great about working with my simple design ideas and bringing his own experiences in his craft and the artistry involved. At the start, he filled me in on material (wood vs MDO) options, weighed in on the time and cost of each, and throughout, he always checked in with me to make sure I was alright with the progress at each stage of the process. He brought his own tools, collected over decades of professional experience, and was always conscientious about clean-up, bringing his own shop vac and keeping our (small!) kitchen and his (even smaller!) work area as organized and dust-free as possible. His attention to detail at every level of construction was so appreciated. Most importantly, he's a lovely person, and I would never hesitate to recommend him as highly as possible for any work you need done.

Jeffrey just left after installing my fantastic shelves! Every thing was kept neat and clean and it went off without a hitch.

I can't say enough great things about Jeffree. Most importantly, the built in bookshelves he made and installed for us are incredible. We had a large gathering at the house soon after and EVERYONE was very impressed with the craftsmanship and quality of the work.

Almost as important is that he's a great guy, fair and honest, easy to work with and was great with our kids.

I would use him again and again and would suggest the same for anyone in need of a real craftsman who cares about his work as well as the people he does the work for. I'm happy to provide more details/pics of the work. Just ping me for details.

Wow.

I lost Jeffree's phone number and so I visited the classifieds to see if it was still here.

Jeffree has done two fairly complicated jobs for me over the past year or so. I found him to be creative, professional and sensitive to detail.

I have no way of knowing why the pattern of posts that predate mine suggest one poster. Maybe Jeffree asked nonposting site visitors to write testimonials.

I understand BIG TIME why one has to be cautious in hiring contractors but I'd like to go on record that Jeffree was a personable and resourceful carpenter.

I'm not a newbie and Jeffree has no idea that I'm posting this.
