  • Hello everyone - yes I know, long time since the last time I was on. Anyway, just started reading the blog again.
The plane crash that you were talking about happened December 16, 1960. It was a Friday morning and the snow was pretty heavy that day. It was between a TWA Constellation and a United Airlines DC 8. The United plane came down on 7th. & Sterling Place and the TWA Constellation came down on Staten Island. A person by the name of Ray Garcia wrote a book about it called "STERLING PLACE". Interesting stuff. The only survivor was a 11 or 12 year old boy named Stephen. I can still see his face on the front page of the Daily News. They had unbrellas over him to protect him from the falling snow. When they took that photo, he was staring straight into the camera. He survived for about 24 hours at Methodist Hospital. He did not make it.
Now, back to shoveling this damn SNOW! Is SPRING around the corner yet???

  • Good Morning Bloggers !!!
  • Just stopping by to see who's on here, but I guess no one, lol.
  • Geri is back home and needs to get on here soon. Bob also before his trip to India. Sorry I missed you Danny.
  • Snow Danny?? I swear, thank goodness it's not here. It has actually been a little warmer the past day and today. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way, lol.
  • Morning Debbie
  • Did you work around the house all day yesterday??? I kept picturing you keeping busy. Your house must be spotless, lol.
  • Lol, I did. This morning I took down the tree and put everything away already!! I'm exhausted!!!!!!!!!
  • How is the weather there? Can you go out and take a nice walk??
  • Well, when I went outside to throw out my tree it was freezing!! Hopefully it will warm up a bit. I have to walk up to the store.
  • Do they pick up the tree separately? They do here and take them to the recycle area and mulch them.
  • They do, I have to ask my husband when. He works for Sanitation. I should just tell him to take it to work!!! LOL
  • Now, Sanitation is a great job !!
  • When I was in the Fire Department, they all used to say that sanitation made more money than us since they had a lot of overtime. We were limited to the amount of OT we could get.
