third-off to n.j. to visit my mom in hospital(she's doing better)
and than we have a surprise 50th b-day party for a friend tonite

...well I'm surely not a nurse (Hi guys) ..but I know with my mom's lung cancer, (I can't believe I said the word) she was at the point where her body could not process the normal secretions surrounding the lungs outer lining, therefore creating a build up of that fluid in between the lungs which compressed the lung causing the breathing probs.

...docs had to perform a pleurosentisis, draining first, then adhereing one lung to the other so there is no longer any space there for fluid to build up again. Still in the process of seeing if it worked.

..thank God she has some relief now, home from hosp after 11 days, 7 of which was in CCU, working on building her up again, and prepare her for the chemo and rad treatments. She's a strong bird!

I don't know if this would apply to your mom Joey but it's at least food for thought. Hope she is comfortable. Rock on!
