You might be interested in the artist coops slated for construction on Franklin Ave and Bergen. Work should begin in the Spring. Sales will be limited to artists in residence. Contact John West at CPC Resources for more information. His number is 212-869-5300. -

How unusual do you want these artists to be and why are you looking for them? What kind of music? I know many of both but the pickins venue-wise seem a bit lean in this 'hood. -

I'm a graduate journalism student at NYU and I'm looking for a cultural story. Do you know any artists of West Indian heritage? It could be any kind of music or art really. Thanks. -

The co-developer of the artist lofts is a foundation called Artopolis whose mission is to create affordable housing for artists. They've done this before elsewhere, I believe in Massachusetts. -

Thanks a lot. This sounds very interesting. I'll get in touch with them. -

I know an artist who is part Haitian who runs a combine but it is more in the Growanus area of Brooklyn. Check out the Madagascar institute website. Let me give it some more thought. It specifically needs to be West Indian heritage? -

The artist doesn't need to be of West Indian heritage. I'll look at the website of the Madagascar Institute. Thanks a lot.
