Breaking News: Obama Asks Congress to Delay DTV Transition
WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama is urging Congress to postpone the Feb. 17 switch from analog to digital television broadcasting, arguing that too many Americans who rely on analog TV sets to pick up over-the-air channels won't be ready.

We NEED to delay that shit. You know when the feds go ALL digital, they'll have the technology and the ability to creep into your home through your set!!
Just like they can listen in on your cell phone even when it's not turned on. Analog phones can't do this, but digital phones you can.
Watch what happens when we go all digital TV's.

There are easy ways around this if you're serious about protecting your privacy. A layer of tin-foil only a few microns thick inside a baseball cap is sufficient to thwart most remote surveillance technologies.

i don't know about all that, but i do know that the digital thing is good news for the broadcasters (and advertisers) and no one else.
fuckers.
i'm just trashing my tv (unless anyone wants one for dvds/videos only -- pm me). -

We junked the cable and the vintage Zenith Space Command TV last week. Converting the digital signal to analog after the changeover might or might not have stopped the NSA from tuning in to my thoughts, but I figured it's best not to take the chance. Without a TV, what I miss most is the clock on the cable box, so we're thinking about an analog replacement for that too.

I'm sure the CIA, NSA, FBI, and military spy agencies are dying to hear about my television viewing habits and phone conversations.
...but what everyone forgets about is the space aliens. The space aliens can even defeat the tin foil hat. -
