Ways to Serve/Volunteer in Crown Heights, Jan. 19

Was looking for places to volunteer on MLK day, and also looking for ongoing places to volunteer close to home so I can start to feel a little more a part of the community.

Does anybody know of any places in Crown Heights that are participating in the National Day of Service on the 19th? Or places to volunteer in CH in general?

don't know any off the top of my head, but have you checked out either onebrick.org or volunteermatch.org?

Also, just doing a search for 'local volunteer work' on google brought up a few other links you might want to check out as well.

thanks, yeah, I've looked at a couple of those national sites, but haven't found much right here in the neighborhood yet, just thought I'd see if anybody on here had done anything or knew of anything specifically

You can try stopping by or calling a couple of local organizations to see what their volunteer opportunities are. This is a list from Community Board 8's website.
