i'm going to dc to mill around with the other zillion lunatics.
-
Watching it from the comfort of my office chair. Or the "theater" we have at work, providing I can sneak away.
-
now i hear of parties at Homage and Chavellas....can anyone confirm????
-

I heard that! -
I'm in DC working...met the most fabulous man---and he invited me to the Midwestern Ball. You can't make this stuff up!

Somebody with a good size apartment , patient neighbors , and a tv bigger than 30 inches should have an Inauguration/Dubya Bush is gone partay.

is that an offer? -
Lets see... Gates at Defense. Geithner at Treasury. Troops remain in Iraq. Sec of State who voted for Iraq. No Gitmo close in the near future. A "bailout" that relies heavily on tax cuts.
Hope and change, huh? Looks like Bush III to me. -

Well , all I got is two 25 or 27 inch flat screens. The nice one is in my bedroom , for my video games more than anything. So , if I could have people over no one is allowed to touch that tv. Ya'll sit your ass's in the main room. Only game lovers can go sit in that room and play on that tv.
Next problem is how I'm gonna explain everyone to my husband. He's around all the time now cuz he wants to buy a car and he's taking forever to find one.
The neighbors on my floor are cool. They do their own thing on the weekends sometimes and I don't really care. So , I know they won't.
My living is a good size , but will be even bigger If I can get these:
I'm trying to get him to buy some. I don't know if they sell them in NY.
So , I'm really not a good candidate. -
Tell your husband you joined a knitting circle, or a prayer group, or that you are hosting a tupperware party, or howbout a meeting of the neighborhood watch...although none of that really explains why we are sitting in your bedroom playing Deadspace or Call of Duty 4 or Rockband, does it?
Aw hell, just tell him the truth, you met a bunch of crazies online and you've invited them over to watch the swearing in. I'm sure he'll believe that

No no no.....it's Super Mario Bros. , Firefox -SNES , and Goldeneye 007 -N64.
Got Monopoly for the serious folks. -
So if no party at Em's house where's the best place to watch tomorrow for folks without a TV who are around during the day?
-
I had heard that Tavern on Nostrand was going to be open for this, but they've been pretty hit and miss the last couple of months.
-
Cafe Steinhof will be showing it, I think.
-
I wonder if it´ll make the local news here (which verge on horrid due to production value.)
-
this link has been posted in the fort green thread for a while, but still relevant. Afterall, we're not that far down the road:

The party here is in DC is bananas! I had to take a break---I'm pacing myself....

i was at Bristen's on Sunday and the owner (forget her name) told me that they will be showing the inauguration.
-
im projecting it onto a huge wall outside at columbia university whoop
-
I'll be at work watching it on my computer. Exciting, I know. However that evening I'll be heading to the Inauguration Day Hardcore Show in Bushwick with Fucked Up, Pissed Jeans, Vivian Girls and a secret special guest.
-
I have turned down my invitation to go to City Hall. I will go to the home of my 3rd grade son's teacher.
Many of the teachers in my kid's school are taking their classes to their home. It is gonna be a pizza party. -
Keep in mind that the inauguration is at noon and the inauguration address by Obama is scheduled for 12:05, so unless people are going to be partying at noon (I plan to start soon thereafter- anyone who wants to join can PM me) I'm not sure what these places will be showing on the TVs. Reruns of the inauguration?
-
I can't speak for the other venues, but Steinhof is opening at 11A today.
-
Why are you up so early if you're going to watch the election IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides, I'm at work so I'll be watching the inauguration on Hulu or possible a midtown bar. -
I'm watching it on TV. In my office. I'd rather be at a bar.
-
Clearly I need more coffee. Coffee please!!!!!!! With Baileys mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I will be watching it in our cushy theater with free lunch whoo hoo!
Howdy, Stranger!
