  • See that.. I taught Drunken something.... how to use the edit button.

    (oh that was mean spirited!)
  • Today in Connecticut Muffin on 7th Ave and 1st, I watched as a PS 321 mom picked up her 6yr old and stood him up on the bench in front of the counter, where he was able to track his wet snow boots all over, leaving a puddle of black sludge across the bench for someone to unwittingly sit down on. This was the indoor bench, mind you.

I debated on whether to let her know how brilliant I thought her behavior was, but in the end I decided to leave her to the most unthinkable punishment imaginable--I decided to let her live out her ridiculous Park Slope life, oblivious.
  • Maybe the bj you gave the delivery guy was too toothy
  • The Chuck E. Cheese-ification of the Starbux on 7th avenue.

I thought that Starbucks was more like a homeless shelter than a Chuck E. Cheese. Maybe I've been going at a different time than you.
  • So, last night I'm outside lingering in the middle of a sidewalk when a fire engine comes roaring, sirens screaming... Probably a fire or a cat emergency somewhere.

The truck attempts a left down 9th Street just as two able bodied late 20's men are strolling through the crosswalk. Clearly there is no risk of a collision, but the bitch is this:

These two men don't even break stride. They continue through the cross-walk at the same, leisurely pace they'd established for themselves. One even had the gall, upon reaching the haven of the corner, to stop and look back at the delayed fire engine in minor disgust.

I'm peeved enough when this happens as I'm driving my 1998 Jetta - but this was a fire engine... come on people, this isn't New England or a suburban mall parking lot.
  • Am I allowed to bitch about the cuntrags who have to lean on poles in a crowded subway thereby making it impossible for anyone else to hold onto them?
  • Oh man Ana, you weren't here when the term Pole Sloth was coined...
  • I missed that one. I hate those fucking coozes.
  • Coming in to bitch about the incredibly rude people everywhere but especially on 7th ave. Common manners dictate that if you are walking up a narrow sidewalk(stroller or not) and you see someone coming the other way, you move over a little so both people can pass. If someone holds a door open, you say thank you. You do not let your dog piss on peoples cars. I could go on but I will leave it at that.

    Tramp. :P

Oh please - tell me you have not been getting better service since noon on the 20th!!??

  • Can i bitch about the kid who fell on top of my stroller yesterday afternoon and landed on a under 1 year old infant who was inside it? this kid was probably about 7 years old and was walking backwards across the street while his nanny was saying 'stop it, stop it, stop it'. She saw the kid doing it, I tried to get out of the way and instead of her grabbing the kid, she let him go on, thereby, falling on my stroller and child!

Did i get an apology from either the kid or the nanny? A, "oh, is the baby ok?". No, nothing! Once the kid fell on my stroller, the nanny THEN grabbed him, helped him up and said to him "See? I told you not to do that". I wanted to scream!

And, if anyone gives a hoot, yes, the baby was perfectly fine! Ticks me off though, it's not that hard to teach a kid manners or how to behave, even if you are the nanny!!!
  • You should have punched the kid. And the nanny. That would have showed him.
  • Carmen, if you knew, you would know I was steps away from it, LOL! but, i don;'t throw punches while with young children (or at young children), but, the nanny did get an earful as she walked away.

I am liking this thread, I have a ton of bitching built up inside.
  • funny how everyone else's nanny is always so awful...while my nanny is perfectly perfect in every way. she would never fall, or ever, ever, ever, let my toddler trip and hit his indigo-head. we also never leave the house. nor should you!
    happy parenting!
  • Yeah, yeah, kids fall, shit happens. But, if you see your kid is about to fall on to another kid, you do something about it!! or, at the very least, apologize and inquire as to whether or not the person he/she fell on is ok.

You have pointed out one of Park Slope's trademark behaviors. In this neighborhood, apparently, it is people like you, I, and the rest of regular working America's job to open doors for Park Slope's hiking-sandaled leisure class minions.

Our thanks? Simply being allowed to remain in Park Slope and envy their greatness.

I once had a nuevo-Slope mother furiously tell me "Don't even bother" because I was apparently a few seconds too late opening a store door for her as she entered in front of me. I guess for those few seconds, I forgot my place in society.

[quote="Drunken Revival"]I just can't be quiet about this any longer.

For the past three days in a row I have ordering sandwiches from Pizza Plus, Russos, and Second Helpings respectively.

I always make a minor change to the sandwich on the menu.. specifically I add fresh mozerlla to one and order sans tomatoes to the other. I am very clear and very specific about these changes.

Now, for the past three days they have fucked up my order. This has happened numerous times at all three places.

    ********************************************

Sorry to hear that as i've been pretty fortunate so far, in fact I ordered a pie from Pizza Plus today and it was delivered in 15 minutes , the delivery boy was very polite and the pie was still warm.

[MOD NOTE: Edit out random weird image -off topic]
  • the image that was deleted was that of a member of an Ethiopian Mursi Tribe, who use lip plates as a sign of beauty.
the photo was of a tribe member whose plate coloring was that of a pizza , which was meant to be a humorous response to Drunken Revival's complaint about Pizza Plus's inability to fill his is order, which i felt was on topic..
  • I would say, screw all those places, Tomato & Basil is where it's at. mmmm.... ((drool)) and they are always fast and manage to complete a fairly simple and/or complex order.
  • I have to put in a good word for the sandwiches/heros at La Bagel. I ordered their Godfather sandwich once, and the guy making it put so much care into it and spent quite a while assembling it. It was truly amazing. Are Russo's sandwiches good too?
