The only warm place I found a round here is Heights Coffee. The place is hot and it was packed. … couldn’t find a decent seat but that’s fine. By far it is the best place in the Heights. there is no other place around this neighborhood that is pack 7 days a week. Come on Canivore give these guys a break, there’re doing something right in the neighborhood!!!!

No way. I hate them. And they aren't the best place in the neighborhood for anything. Prospect Perk has nicer staff. Gorilla has better coffee (true, technically not PH, but it's just a few blocks), and Heights Coffee has all the charm of a Starbucks. Gamin also has better coffee, nicer staff and better atmosphere.
Being packed isn't a virtue in itself.
I'm glad you like the place, lovemynabe, and I accept that there's room for difference of opinion, but they rubbed me the wrong way one too many times (and I've given them plenty of chances). I'm not going back there, and I can't wait until some of these newer places open up. -

You "hate them," seems personal, Canivore. Why would they rubbed you the wrong way and no one else. I went through all of your postings and you semed to have disliked the shop from the first day they opened. Why? -

If you've read my postings, you know why I don't like them. I'm not going to rehash it here in a thread about Jumpin' Juice & Java. I had nothing against them in the beginning except for the posts by them pretending to be customers praising the place. -

There're other reasons you're not saying that you don't like Heights Coffee. Here is another reason that you gave: " and Heights Coffee has all the charm of a Starbucks." So your original reason that they post pretending to be customers(I am not sure about that) is not valid. I have talked to the people that own Heights Coffee and believe me there're not competing with any other coffee shops in the area. -

How does the place's lack of charm invalidate the fact that the fake testimonials pissed me off?
I'm not sure why you keep harping on this. This thread isn't about Heights Coffee. However, I find it interesting that you accused sje of shilling for Gamin, saying:lovemynabe wrote: There is nothing inherently wrong in expressing your likeness for a particular buniness, but when it becomes incesant.....it raises questions, that's all.
when you've been at least as incessant in your praise of Heights Coffee. I don't like the place. There's nothing more sinister about it. Why don't you stop derailing this thread about Jumpin' Juice & Java and leave it at that? If they aren't competing with other places in the area, surely you can let us discuss another place without repeatedly bringing them up. -
I predict the space will be too small.

i agree with carnivore and hope this new place is way more awesome than stinkin' heights coffee.

Possibly. I'm not sure how far back the kitchen part of Biscuit used to go. If they incorporate some of that space, it would at least be bigger than Prospect Perk (not that PP has so much space or anything). -
Thank you Carnivore. Seems like you're now the focus of Lovemynabes obsession with making other people stop posting preferences for anything and rooting around in old comments to "prove" pointless points.
Lovemynabe, what on earth is your problem? Get another hobby, please! This one is very annoying! -
So the Biscuit space is for rent again. It looks like Jumpin' Juice and Java didn't make it past the buying a sign stage. The had the front open today, and it looks like the place is gutted to the rafters and walls studs. It's going to be quite a while before anything opens in that space.

That sign has been there for months, maybe since summer or early fall of last year. Weird how they put a sign up and nothing at all happened there.

Yeah. This thread was actually from a year ago. I had to use the search function to find it before I revived it. -
I'm guessing that wouldn't have been a good business. Any business owner who buys a sign before being ready to open seems somewhat...not so good at business.

Subject: Building code violations
Renovations of the place got halted almost as soon as they began because of some kind of code violations. Happened very fast. About all they got done was putting up the sign and gutting what had been Biscuit.
Howdy, Stranger!
