  • I used to work for Wing Wah, delivering. As much money as I made with them their food was okay. It was cheap and they delivered quickly. The only time the food was ever good was when the staff cooked for themselves. Off-menu stuff. Winh Wah, Fuji-San, Rex, Miracle Grill, that Mexican place above Fuji-San, Lemon Grass, all of them owned by the same family.

Well I didn't know that all those places were owned by the same family. I did live here way back when. Thanks for the information.

that all seems odd that they were/are owned by the same family, You learn something new every day.

So, Wing Wah, here in early 80s or not? used to love their roast pork bun.
  • Subject: Do you mean 'China Wok'?

    Back to the original question...

We just tried to order delivery from China Wok, 418 7th Ave. between 13th and 14th, and no one answered the phone. Could this be the place you were thinking of?

We'd be very upset if it closed, since it was our go-to Chinese delivery.

Any suggestions for a replacement in South Slope?
  • Yes, China Wok on 7th ave between 13th and 14th closed, I believe last Thursday. They've stripped the store down to the studs and there is a for rent sign where the awning used to be. It was right around the corner from me so I would order, hang up and go to pick it up - always ready by the time I got there.
