More fires?

There are about 5 fire trucks on the corner of classon and prospect place, near the classon side of the jewish hospital -- anyone know what's going on? nybt?

The firemen were mostly sitting in their trucks, so it doesn't look like anything too serious... (I hope)

Subject: Not Fires

but a bit of a drug bust. NYPD have been here since 11 a.m. I asked if it was anything to be concerned about given the number of cars that have been here all day but the officers said "no, it's just weed". Not sure why the fire trucks were necessary but they came and went within about 15 minutes. I'd love to hear if anyone else knows more about it.

there were 5 or 6 firetrucks in front of our part of the hospital (555 prospect) and the rest of that block for at least an hour or two last night. they had a hydrant open too. i asked the firemen what was up. one said, "somebody burned their dinner." another: "nothing. everything's fine."

now i don't know much about drug busts, but i do know about burnt dinner, and 6 firetrucks seems like an unusual response.

i understand fire/police can't go telling folks everything about investigations, but it still made for an uneasy night.

I'm in 551 and I live on the floor where the dinner was burned last night. Boy did it smell. I stuck my head out before the firefighters arrived and saw my poor neighbors trying to get the smoke out of the hall. It must have set off an alarm to the department.

I didn't know anything about the pot bust, though. Very interesting...
