Help with Dog Pooper: Suggestions? — Brooklynian

Help with Dog Pooper: Suggestions?

For the last few months my boyfriend and I have noticed a crap load of dog shit on the street and curb in front of our apartment (brownstone). It is there all the time. The only time it gets picked up is by the street sweeping machine.
Today I finally caught the SOB. He lives across the street! I watched his dog in mid squat leave his package and the two of them went right back home.
We are looking for revenge/deterrent ideas? The obvious crap in a bag, left on his doorstep comes to mind; thoughtful notes posted to his door come to mind but we thought we could get some good suggestions here?

Please help with your ideas.

  • sic Obamanut on him.

You could just tell him to pick his dog's shit up. being direct is usually the best first step.
  • take a photo and post it outside his building.

Video it and have the police give him a summons.

just ask him to abide by the law and pick up his pets droppings.

take a dump on his stoop.
  • Grab the poop and smear it on his front door and knob.
  • you sound like Bobby Sands
  • I'm totally digging the idea about posting his picture. Preferably him + dog + steaming pile of shit taped up in front of his house, plus in front of your house where he brings his dog.

Mama's idea is pretty funny too, but I'm guessing he lives in a bldg, and then that's not cool for the other tenants. However, if it's a private house, smear on!
  • collect it and create a Madonna in Dog Dung, the Brooklyn Museum would more then likely buy it.
  • does he have a car? Need I say more?
  • or a stroller
  • or get his dry cleaning delivered and hung outside his door?
  • can you collect it and drop it on his head from your window? or a water balloon filled with pee?
  • carnivore, where is that sling shot link?
  • the most logical thing to do, is find out if there is a Block Assoc. on your block, if so, let them approach him.

If not, do all of the above.

I'm not sure if we should be happy about this or not, but that was exactly what I was thinking too LOL!

We are all kids at heart.
  • please advise what street we're talking about, i don't want to get caught in the middle of a dog shit and balloons filled with urine tossing war.

    HA!! Damn me too!

This. And, just approach the guy. You don't have to escalate it and fight with him, but let him know you know, you've seen him and that he can't do that.
  • offer him a plastic bag.

offer to tie a bag of plastic bags where his dog poops.
  • This pisses me off. It gives us responsible dog owners a bad name.
  • I like Flexi's suggestion. Make it a couple of bags on the head or a couple of water balloons.

    Under his tail?
  • when you see him walking his dog, and hit dog squats....

offer the owner a plastic bag. Pull one from your pocket. If he declines, there isn't much more you can do (don't fight with fools)

or, let the owner know that you'll leave bags here "at his dogs favorite spot" for him.
  • OR - it's a bit of an expense - maybe buy him one of those bone shaped bag holders and a refill for it. I know, you really shouldn't have to go out of your way to get this idiot to comply with the law, but it make smooth things over and/or be a good way to get him to do what he's supposed to do.
  • thanks for all the suggestions!

spoke with my landlord and we have a plan in place...

ill post an update once we have some results.

BTW-> its a brownstone block which makes it worse in my mind. supposed to be more neighborly right?
