Sometimes I think people really hate me when I say I'm a consultant.
They do, but it's because they're jealous. To them, you make more than they do (they don't take into account that you don't work every single hour of every single day) and you can't get fired (they don't take into account that you spend a LOT of time trying to get work).
It's the "don't hate me because I'm beautiful" syndrome. -
I am retired, or a stay at home dad. Depends who you ask. I spend my day at home on the computer as to avoid Obamanut.

I just loved this reply!
I think the OP asked a completely reasonable, inquisitive question and many people are answering honestly. Amazing how Obamanut can contribute to a discussion and bring it down. Don't we already have the "bitch about PS" thread that he edited original title and renamed to define how he feels about the neighborhood and the people in it? -

They are probably the same men and women you see walking around with yoga mats or riding skateboards on 7th Avenue at 1pm on weekday afternoons. These individuals display no discernible sign of financial support or employment, yet somehow they are mysteriously able to afford to rent apartments in one of the most expensive areas in the city. I would love to know what their secret is.
Jealous much? -
I am so excited Fucked in Park Slope noticed this thread

Actually, I did not start that thread, nor did I edit the original title. As unbelievable as it sounds, I am not the only one on this board who isn't thrilled about the current condition of Park Slope. Please take a second to check posts before the next time you decide to start throwing around false accusations. -
Alternative Asset Management
aka work at a hedge fund
bow down, bitches. Especially that stay at home dad. Didn't know eunuchs could be fathers. -
Don't be too smug, Smug. Hedge funds are suffering too... and are about to be subjected to considerably more regulation than before. You may soon find yourself training to be a barista, like the other "bitches".

sorry if I fasely accused you of something. As unbusy as I am.. I did not re-check those posts. I falsely assumed that any thread or contribution to a thread that was inflamatory had to be yours. -
I think the non-profit I work at might have helped Comfortably Smug get on unemployment today. ...it might not have been him, it just sounded like him.

Before the bitches bow, why not share your fund's returns for 2008.

I believe he meant that his ilk have brought this country to its knees.
(massive, risky trades in swaps and derivatives markets; ridiculous oil+gas price speculative run-ups; massive shorting of major banks on the slightest rumors forcing runs and failures, new stories of shady dealings behind opaque structures surfacing every week; the list goes on, all for the quick buck...oh wait -- oops.) -
You're too generous in your stated assumption, Jeffrey

Guilty as charged.

If you hire Mougie he can:
1. Afford that new apartment.
2. Work in your existing field, as well as the field you are expanding into. -
