25th street station change — Brooklynian

25th street station change

The many proposed service cuts and station changes proposed at the MTA's hearing last night included one for 25th Street Station on the M, R. If the proposal goes through in March, there will no longer be an attendant in the booth on the southbound track. Ever.

  • Ever? Where did you find the specifics of where station staffing would be cut? That's so strange they'd do that since the southbound and northbound platforms don't connect. At least it'll still smell like donuts when you get off the train! I miss livin' off that stop.
  • They have all the proposed changes posted in the stations, typically near the exit. There may be changes at 36th and Prospect as well but I am not sure. I have seen them in stations all over the city.

Agreed on the strangeness since the platforms don't meet. At least the CTown looks like it is opening imminently so when exiting the southbound track one won't be met with a lonely construction site.
  • According to CB7, this has been on their agenda for cuts for a while...but not 100% done deal. Let's see.
