Wit's end

Subject: Wit's end

No, not another thread complaining about strollers, dogs, yuppies or shills, just a comment on the filming that was going on in front of the Pavilion Theater this morning.

I walked by and checked out the director chairs on my way to the subway and they had "Wit's End" written on them. On IMDB, the only recent thing I could find with that name was a TV show that was set in New York. Below is the plot summary. Maybe it's just a poorly written summary, but it doesn't sound like it's a sure fire hit. One of the stars/writers/producers was on "Survivor" a few years ago, apparently. But who knows, it might be good. Anyone know when/where this might air?

"Five struggling comics inherit a vacant comedy club in the heart of New York City. Unfortunately, they have few business skills, huge insecurities, and challenges out the wazoo. Can this amusing and neurotic bunch of hacks pull together to find success? Or will they drive each other to their wits' end?"

    really?
  • I think that Wits End is the name of a NY company that provides equipment to the film industry.

Maybe that's it. "Wit's End" was written in slanted script and in quotes on the chairs, which is why I thought it was the name of the production. I checked out the website for Wits End production supply and they have a different logo and they don't use an apostrophe in "wits", so I will probably still seek out this engrossing show featuring "hacks" and "wazoos".

    :)
  • on 15th, right near the pavillion, there are signs saying that comcast is filming here. the entire street is also in the middle being ripped up for someone to lay pipes, after we just got repaved.

    something doesn't make sense
  • My partner and I were just wondering about that last night. Why did they just rip up the street to replace pipe after they just repaved it? I was wondering if maybe there was a water main leak after the fact or if it was just poor planning and a waste of municipal dollars.

I did find out more about the TV show, even if that's not what is filming. It looks like there are few video clips, but I'm not familiar with any of the performers www.wits-endtv.com
  • i don't think it's a water situation, we haven't been without and from what i recall the water mains are on the other side of the street (ah, i remember so clearly the day they cracked in half!)

Actually, it's about cab drivers and an Italian trapeze group, the Flying Wazoos.
