graffiti on a subway wall:
My mother made me a homosexual!
someone writes underneath it:
If I get her the yarn will she make me one too? :P -

I was in SF on election day. There were all kinds of protest re: Prop 8. My favorite sign from an obviously queer guy "Would you rather I married your daughter?"
he's got a very good point.
Back to the knitting. My trees all look naked now

I posted a photo of this tree on Flickr a few weeks back. Apparently there's this whole "guerilla knitting" movement going on! There are even Flickr groups devoted to it!
And it's a tree sweater, not a tree scarf, silly... -
Oh YEA! I remember seeing someone, seriously, knitting a cover for her entire car about two months ago. It was on Webster Pl. (Street between 6th and 7th, and between Prospect and 16th). She was sitting, on the street, with her knitting sticks or whatever... knitting a car cover. She was like 2/3 done.
How did I forget about that! -

Apparantly someone with a good sense of humor, who could be classified as a knitwit -

Maybe she could knit a caddy for my caddy!( I know, some call it a cozy) -
on a purely financial level, it's far less expensive (materials and time spent) to purchase used clothing for those less fortunate.
on a purely emotional level, are you kidding? -

Maybe you should be out feeding the poor instead of pontificating on the blogosphere. :x -

This is what will happen in the Spring! -

Anything that crawls up a trunk is up to no good. Soak that scarf in gasoline and it will take care of the gypsy moth problem in PS. It might help cut down on the squirrels too! :P -
we have gypsy moths here?
-

Not since I started wrapping gasoline soaked rags around the ginkos! -
be careful, you don't want them putting a curse on you.
-
How cute. I hope nobody steals it. I bet the fire hydrant(s) on the block is pissed off.
I wish I could knit! Someday.
