have you tried Mule cafe?
WiFi nice, but not necessary.
it's on 4th ave, between Bergen + St. Mark's
i believe that would be an affirmative on the WiFi -

I was looking for a place like that too, but then I realized it was my living room.

Ha! my living room is great, but every once in a while I want to get out of of the house for some unknown reason

I haven't tried Mule as it's a bit far for me, but when it gets warmer, I'll keep it in mind. Thanks! -

Heights Coffee on Flatbush

This may seem a bit obvious, but the library at Gap. They even have food and coffee. It's usually pretty quiet.

They even have wifi. If you want to plug in, though, you have to go to the reading room upstairs (where no coffee is allowed). -
guest who recommended the library was me. I didn't know they had WIFI. Cool.

I didn't realize they had coffee and food, so it wasn't obvious to me

Thanks for the Sutra suggestion. I never really go past 5th/16th, so I didn't realize there was something new there -
No problem... last time i was there they were giving free german lessons. pretty random but cool.

I checked Sutra out last weekend based on this recommendation. Never
would have found out about it if I hadn't read it here. It was lovely and
I will definitely go back. It had a much quieter vibe than the Tea Lounge
but similar feeling with the eclectic collection of couches, etc. The cheesecake was wonderful. So was the jasmine green tea served
in a nice big mug. Prices also seemed reasonable.

Went here today based on recommendations (thanks!) and thought it was adorable. Not one child or stroller in the place (no offense).
Very nice owner behind the counter and delish chocolate cupcake (filled with choc. pudding).
