Man and woman walking around asking to see ConEd bills

A guy and girl, both black and in their 20s, wearing dark blue vests with various pins, are ringing doorbells right now on Greene between Bedford and Franklin. They claimed to be from ConEd and asked to see a copy of my bill. I shut the door and said no before I listened to their whole schpiel (sp?). I'm sure they are not legit so please beware...

Beware of these scammers. They're from IDT energy and their tactics are illegal. Your instincts were right. Slam the door on these people. I wouldn't even let them in my building when they tried to work my neighborhood.

They came to my door last week, I was home sick and they rang my buzzer a million times, so at that point I was thoroughly annoyed, went downstairs and they gave me this whole nonsense schpeel about lowering my con ed bill, I figured it was a scam and told them I was sick and to get the f out of my building... uggh
