Looking for somewhere different to go tonight...
So, I have a good friend who recently moved to Brooklyn from Queens (to Greenpoint) and who has apparently just 'discovered' Williamsburg. Sooooo annoying. I mean, I like Williamsburg just fine, but I get really tired of going there all. the. time. Now, this friend is very stubborn (I accept that) and doesn't take hints such as "I'm really tired of Williamsburg, let's go somewhere else" and "I'm SERIOUSLY tired of Williamsburg, let's go somewhere else". He just ended our conversation with, "So we'll meet in Williamsburg later?" Whatever. I lose.
So, can somebody please point me towards a bar that I may have missed that won't be packed and intolerable on a Saturday night? Please? I'm honestly open to any place that isn't too douchy on a weekend night. Oh, and it needs to be within the Bedford/Lorimer areas and not too far south--he'll get cranky. Some bars I like: Brooklyn Ale House, Spuyten, Iona. Just looking for some place new. Ayudame?

Radegast Hall & Biergarten on N 3rd St (between Bedford & Berry) is a really fun place and not really too douchy. The bartenders are nice and they have good food in the back.
The Abbey on Driggs/N.8th is pretty chill too. -
Radegast is always packed and always douchey. Not to mention over priced. Though i will definitely agree about the awesome bartenders and good food. Zablozski's on N6th is often not TOO packed on Saturdays. Pretty cheap too. Could also check out Bushwick Country Club on Grand and Leonard. One of my favorite spots if I'm in Williamsburg. Doesn't really get too packed, has a big backyard area (which is kinda only useful this time of year if you smoke). But their prices are good, they got Buck Hunter. It gets the job done.

Sounds like you need a new friend! ;-)

Hahaha, well, he's one of those friends I've had so long that he's like family. Gotta take the good with the bad.
We ended up at The Lovin' Cup Cafe, where Anytime used to be, and it wasn't bad at all. Not crowded, and I got tater tots, so we're all good. -
Ah nice, I've been meaning to check that out. Verdict on the tots? And how was beer prices? I wish it was still Anytime... Well, drunk me at 4am wishes it was still Anytime.

Well, the tater tots were awesome. I had it in my mind to say "I'll have the pulled pork sandwich with the salad greens," but my mouth accidentally said "tater tots." They were real crispy, kind of rosemaryish, and there were lots of them. The pulled pork sandwich, not so much. I mean, they tried and it wasn't AWFUL. I heard the burger was great, though. Oh, and free beer with every burger (that may have been on offer only before 9). And they had a decent selection with two Six Points on tap. Good, long happy hour (like $3 or $4, can't remember). They also have a great selection of bourbons which is my soft spot, but that's where the prices will getcha.
And for drunk you, they serve food till 4 am. -
for a bar only, I like K&M on Roebling + N.8th. decent sized and good music.
try relish for bar and food on N.3rd and wythe - great atmosphere.
also monkey town on N. 3rd bet. wythe and kent.
DOC is an excellent wine bar/restaurant on n.7th and wythe.
Howdy, Stranger!
