Burial Travel Fund for Victims of Pacific St. Fire

I went to a memorial event in front of 1033 Pacific Street this morning. I met the family of some of the arson/murder victims, and I'm writing now to urge everyone to contribute to their burial and travel fund.

The residents of this building are our neighbors. They need our help, and I don't know who else will come to their aid. This is our own backyard, and even a token contribution would be greatly appreciated.

For those of you who don't know, one week ago, someone started a fire on the first floor of 1033 Pacific. The police department have determined that this was arson, so this was a heinous act of murder.

At the memorial event this morning, I told the family that I wanted to give a small donation. They said that no donation was small. Even if you give a token amount, it will show that you care enough about your neighbors to do something.

We can't bring back the lives lost in this useless act of violence. But we can stand together and make our neighborhood a better place.
