Hello Prospect Heightizens (what are we called?). I'm posting this MEETUP for my friend Eric. It's already on the Slope board, but could it hurt to post it here?

Hi Everyone,
We're having our BKLN blogger - web people meetup this Wednesday at 7 pm at Pacific Standard , 82 4th ave x Bergen St.

Pacific Standard
82 4th Avenue (at Bergen St)
7:00 PM
Here's the blurb from our website:
There are more bloggers in Brooklyn than any other place I know of. Just look in the Tea Lounge in the middle of the day. What are they all doing? ( the ones without the strollers ) Blogging.
Add to that all the web designers, developers, web video producers, and we *are* the center of the web universe.
So I thought we should have a meetup that meets in the center of the universe, BKLN, where we can get together and meet, talk, have a beverage.
This is not your typical Manhattan Web meetup. We don't have Powerpoint presentations or lots of guys with suits on walking around. This is pure social: Its us, we live in Brooklyn, and we get together to meet each other in person.

I would love to come, but I have homework that's due tomorrow :-(. Is this a monthly thing?
-
Yep it's monthly. Eric has gathered a good crew. It's nice location with lost of space and good beer selection. It's a great way to exchange info/ideas, and a good way to meet your neighbors. So there will be IT people, writers, lawyers, SEO folk, and bloggers. And of course there's me, The Yarn Monkey

Anyhow, you can join on Meetup (info above) for FREE so you get the calendar on a regular basis.
Reminder: There is NO free beer. This a Brooklyn-based social-tech meetup, not a Elk Lodge meeting. -
Subject: BKLYN 2.0 MEET UP MOVED TO FREDDY'S BAR
UPDATE!
BKLN 2.0 MEET UP MOVED TO FREDDY'S BAR
It seems there is a comedy night booked at Pacific Standard. Isn't that funny, we usually get displaced by a poetry slam or LARPers. Luckily, the quick thinking minds of BKLN 2.0 have moved the bloggers meetup to Freddy's Bar in the backroom for tonight (Feb 04).
Hang with fellow geeks in style at Freddy's backroom. Frosty bottled beers, beer on tap, fine martinis, "townies", wine from a bottle, wine from a box, and good conversation... how can you go wrong? Bloggers are welcome and Geeks are encouraged.
Freddy's Bar is located at the corner of Dean Street and 6th Avenue, just down the street from the 78th Precinct and the Bergen 2/3 stop.

Yep, I'm the one.

LARPers? Who are they?

LARPers are dangerous people. This how-to video explains them best.
I admit I'd had a few in me, but it was good night. Lots of interesting folks, good conversation. A few suggested having at Fredd's on a regular basis. Tune in next month for the next BKLYN 2.0 meetup.
Howdy, Stranger!
