I don't usually like sweets, but I have in insane craving for bread pudding, preferably with bourbon. Any ideas on where to find?

  • Dessert Truck, usually around 55th and Lex these days, is supposed to have a great bread pudding. But they are only open from 12-3 so you may be too late.
  • Um, any ideas on where to find in Park Slope? (Mougar you know I don't like food from trucks.)
  • The hoff has it on Mondays for $3 or $4, I think its on the normal menu too. You can probably get them to put bourbon on it haha
  • Is today Monday? Say yes!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not putting bourbon on it dearest, it's cooking bourgon INTO it. Mmmm. The hof. K. Thanks!
  • the hoff can do no wrong. Live it, learn it, love it.
  • Meh. I just need to go with you from what some people tell me!
  • hahaha who moug? We got pretty tanked off $10
  • This isn't helpful at all, I know, but the restaurant I used to work for in Charleston had the best bread pudding with bourbon butter sauce poured on top. Mmmmm.....bourbon. Hmm. It is just a little more than an hour away from happy hour.

I had no idea. That's a block from my work. Will check it out immediately.
  • Boo. Of course I could make it, but I don't have any vanilla beans and I like to drink my bourbon.
  • want. hoff.

too bad im already marinating chicken.
  • 1 Panettone Bread trimmed and diced
    7 eggs
    1 cup heavy cream
    2 cups milk
    1 cup sugar

    Add Bourbon to taste

    Bake for an hour.

    Enjoy.

I don't want to make all the other guys on Brooklynian jealous.
  • Shut up you and do as I say! Scarlett can have some, too!
  • I prefer mine with challah or some other bread. Plus that recipe doesn't sound as yummy as mine........ no offense, vidro. Vidro hates me anyway, so no harm done.
  • Yes, seriously, you could make it lickety-split (and your place would smell soooo good). You could eat it warm and fresh (get some ice cream). No matter how good a restaurant's is, yours will be better.
  • Grrrr but I would have to go shopping for ingredients first and it's too cold to be outside longer than necessary.

Plus mine involves making a rich custard and a sieve and a boatload of butter and and and and I am lazy today. I have been working my butt off and want it made for me.

i use a lot of bourbon
  • Sweet Melissa's has pretty decent Almond Bread Pudding by the slice. But it's expensive.
  • Someone needs to do something here! Now I want bread pudding, too! Thanks a lot, Scar!

I don't think Vidro likes either of us.
  • I love the Almond Bread Pudding from Sweet Melissa! Make sure you heat it up in the Microwave for 15 seconds before serving.
  • MMm that sounds good. But the hof is two blocks from my house, so on the way home tonight I will pick up some from there sans bourbon and review later.
