Found—Gorgeous Black and White Cat

I knew it was only a matter of time...

My boyfriend found a really sweet black and white cat at 10 PM on St. John's and Classon. It looks like a girl (though we're no experts) and, aside from dirty fur and extreme hunger, she seems healthy. She knows people; he couldn't leave her.

Is anyone missing a cat? If not, do you want to give this sweetie a home? I'll post a picture tomorrow night.

We already have a cat and don't have the money for a vet, so she can't stay with us forever. She's hanging out in the bathroom for now. If you have any information, post here or PM me.

Thanks!

  • I believe some people on Park Place (near the subway) lost a black and white cat. There are some signs on that block. However, I think that cat was male.
  • I saw a posting for a missing male tuxedo cat, but he had a collar and was out by Flatbush. I'll check in with that poster, but I'm pretty sure this is a girl.

Did I mention how sweet she is?
  • Yes! We had that flyer in our building. I believe the lost cat was named Charlie.
  • The person who lost Charlie contacted me with a photo of Charlie. Sadly, it's not the same cat.

Again, I'll post a photo later tonight.

    Thanks for your help!

I may be duplicating the same thing mentioned by previous posters here, but I saw a sign on, I believe, the exit door at Met on Vanderbilt regarding a missing cat. I think it said something about the cat being black and white (??).

  • oh man, what a sweetheart! :D:D:D
  • Carnivore - she could be Thomas' girlfriend.
  • It's been over a week, and we have no leads on this pretty lady (see the pictures above). We've been calling her Mrs. Robinson, because she seduced my boyfriend in order to get him to take her home.

We took her to the vet this weekend, and the word is that she's pregnant. (Sound familiar, nybt?) Otherwise, she's quite healthy—we'll get her FIV and feline leukemia results later this week.

At the moment, we're looking for a low-cost (but safe) place to have her spayed (which will also abort her babies) or a shelter to take her in, with or without kittens. While we'd love to keep her and all of her fluffy babies, it probably won't work in our tiny apartment.

Dailyheight-ers, if any of you would like to adopt Mrs. Robinson, please PM me. If the kittens come before we find another option (the vet says it's hard to tell how far along she is), they will also be up for adoption.

As I said before, she's a really sweet cat. She's cuddly, curious, and knows how to use the litter box. We think she'd make a good second cat, as she doesn't seem to have a dominant personality. I'll post more pictures as soon as I get them. She's looking happier and healthier every day.

    Thanks for your help!
  • Contact someone at www.neighborhoodcats.org. They might be able to help you with low-cost spaying

  • Thanks, Lox. We haven't been able to get through to some places yet, so the more information, the better.

Hope Vet on Atlantic is an amazing place. It's no kill, They have a seperate adoption group called Infinate Hope that usually has a long waiting list but if you bring her in with you, talk to them, I'm sure they'll take her.

    Good Luck!!

Oh boy... :) Beware of any unusually friendly cat! When we related out story to him, the guy at ACME said that he hears it all the time! These cats aren't stupid- they know what they're doing!
  • Just barging in from the Park Slope forum to say that you can get a low-cost spay or neuter certificate from muffins.org. I think the spay certificate is $50. You have to make sure the vet you have in mind will take the certificate, and ask if there will be any additional charges.

You can also list pets for adoption with Muffins. I found a great home for a stray cat through them.
  • thanks for all of the info, guys. i'll keep you posted.
