Anybody recognize the intersection? I don't...

It looks like Carlton looking north. At the right of the intersection is the building with all the rocks. -
Yup! You're right, indeed!
-
I'm with escap, I think this looks great. I like the contrast between the old low-rise brownstones and the shiny new high-rise buildings. Not scary at all, IMO.
-
Awful. Poor Brooklyn.
-
totally ridiculous - the angle looks like it is taken from laying on the sidewalk and the 'buildings' are just gray squares - no windows no texture no nothing. You cant tell anything from these renderings.
-
True, but for right now, this is all we have to go on. Maybe this will prompt Ratner and Gehry to meet with the community to share more detailed drawings. They meet with the American Institute of Architecture's NY Chapter; why can't they meet with the affected communities?

can i please express once again how much i HATE architects. no offence to any here, of course. i'd like to think if you post here and are an architect you wouldn't build something so... god. damn. awful.
it makes me want to cry!
also. why are all of these buildings so.. phallic.. maybe he's making up for something. ahem. ahem. -

hah, right? I can't figure out if he's making up for his inferiority or for his perceived brooklyn inferiority. fricking jerk. -
Are there a lot of vaginal skyscrapers?

 -
[quote=Carnivore]

so wait, is that supposed to be phallic or vaginal?? -
It was supposed to look (sort of) vaginal, but on second look, maybe it just looks really really gay.

I think it looks euro. -
Could be feminine - kind of reminds me of Madonna's bras
-
or perhaps you could take it as you are looking at a women's legs up in the air and the stuff in the middle is.........
you know. -

yes. I was just in Chicago, and there's this one:
the one on the far left. :P -
i used to drive by this view constantly, and always found it funny that the pattern of lights turned on and off 2/3 of the way up the aon building [the tallest one] look like they spell something.
only now, thanks to your picture, muteflute, do i realize that it is calling the very, um, open smurfitt-stone building a ho. -

I think it would bring nice contrast to the area. right now atlantic is too empty of area. plus with the tall buildings brooklyn would become a real city with highraises
. though hehe i wouldnt want to live next to it. -
are there any alternate proposals for what to do with the abandoned blocks in downtown brooklyn?
atlantic avenue gets real ugly real quick
