I also love Grand Canyon but have never gotten delivery from there. They have great burgers and breakfast.

I am shocked to hear Balucci's being touted as a great Indian restaurant! ordered from them twice and both times thought the food was very bland and boring. no spice at all. And, we tried different dishes.
As for India House on 7th Avenue-many years ago they were very good. As time went on, they became quite inconsistent. We stopped eating there a while before they closed. As for the "green stuff"-that was hot sauce. -
I can't believe no one has mentioned BOGOTA yet! OMG! Best. Food. Ever. The plantain chips and bean dip, the corn, the coconut rice, the plantain crusted chicken, the pork chops, the fish tacos, the sandwiches, the chipotle salad, the arroz con pollo. mmmmmmmm . . . . .
Also, when I went to Balucci's all of my chicken was very dark meat. I can even get white meat from cheap-o Indian places so that was super disappointing & not worth the $14 or whatever it cost me. -
I second Bagota. Don't forget the delicious tortilla soup. yummm.
-
bogota delivers? do they bring margaritas?
-
LOL! I don't think any place will deliver margaritas-you aren't even supposed to get alcoholic drinks to take out.
-
actually, uncle moes will. but their margaritas suck

Too bad about India House and their inedible, indelible hot sauce, which couldn't have been that spicy if I ate it. I swore off IH very quickly, and I've been here 20+ years. The man who ran it was very nice. Park Slope doesn't seem to have a good record with Indian food. The place on 7th Ave. - Bombay Grill - is quite bland. I guess that's why it's empty so often. I did like my one experience with Baluchis. It seemed tasty without too much spice, for wimps like me. (By the way, I'd be very happy to get all dark chicken meat!) It seemed miles ahead of the others nearby. Is there a better Indian place in the Slope? I'd love to know about it, please. Of course, personal taste is... personal. Still, suggestions are welcome.

Bogota... nice call. However I don't think its as excellent for delivery. Not that it doesn't hold up, but I think it loses 4% of the love in transit. Its worth the trip in ANY and EVERY kind of weather though.

Song for Thai
No good pizza delivery places IMO (we just walk to Amorina and get a pie or square slices)
Either Mr.Wonton or Hunan Delight for Chinese though neither are great
Mitchell's for sandwiches
La Taqueria for Mexican
Olive Vine for Middle Eastern -

It does lose a little. The corn is especially not good because the cheese melts and re-forms into something else. Eating there is 100% worth it - always great service & super festive atmosphere.
Oh but I forgot - the Zaytoons on Vanderbilt will deliver to me in center Slope 9 out of 10 times I call. Thats me second fave hands down. Their hummus and fresh pita bread is sooooooo good! -

they will? People have always told me that it wasn't legal for restaurants to do that, believe me, I have asked! LOL -
don't know whether it's legal, and they may no longer do it now that i've pt it up here on the bard, but i've had them deliver.
-
Anytime used to throw a few beers in with your delivery order, that was always appreciated.

no honorable mentions for second helpings? Healthy comfort food with the most awesome delivery guy, ever. I dig that place... & the food is clean.
Phone staff can be a bit edgy, but who isn't these days... -

Yeah actually, Second Helpings is really good. I Yelped that I would put the spicy catfish Po Boy in my top 8 if It had a myspace. In an unfortunate turn of events, it turns out that the spicy catfish po boy doesn't have a myspace.

my delivery picks:
Hunan Delight
Picasso (surprisingly good for delivery)
Mango (great system...knows your address/number)
Bogota
Amorina (large delivery area)
