Dry Cleaning in Park Slope — Brooklynian

Dry Cleaning in Park Slope

edited November -1 in Park Slope
I heard an interview on WNYC about sexism with dry cleaning. The basic argument from the guest was that it is common practice for dry cleaners to charge more for women’s clothing to be cleaned then men’s clothing. She added that is costs no more or takes no more time to clean and press a woman’s shirt then a man’s shirt. I have no idea if the guest was correct or not on her argument.

Has anyone experienced this at a Park Slope cleaners?

  • and mod, if the server is taking too long it is because a LOT of people care.
  • Mod,

Aren't you a somebody? You cared. You tried to check it out. Are you calling yourself a nobody? That is silly.

  • Stop, stop, stop!

Apple brings up a problem in the dry cleaning industry that has been going on for a long time. Some women's shirts have details that in the ironing phase do take more work (think ruffles) but there is no reason why a basic shirt should be charge differently because the label says "womens.'

I clicked the link and it opened in 5 seconds...I was interested enough to do the click and learned a little more than I knew about the subject than I knew before the click. Mod, I think you are being nasty and I don't really get why. If the header topic that anyone posts doesn't interest me I don't open it to see the post and if i read a post that doesn't interest me I don't respond.
