What time are you filthy whores going?
-
Im trying to get there at 6ish. Happy ahora till 7. Im currently trying to figure out how to get a mandatory 28mb file from my local drive to a client server.
i
need
alcohol -
Nope - on that basis alone I couldn't make it. It has nothing to do with the fact that you're filthy whores, though. Okay, it does.
-
I will type here so it makes me look busy to my boss. It will also keep this thread on top.
...but only 'til 5:15 -
Ok excellent.
Anyone who has ideas about geting this fucking file off my local drive- I'm open. its too big for FTP and too big for email, even zipped.
Halp -
I'm no techie. ...saving it on a thumb drive isn't an option?
-
Remote client. They're in cali, I am here wanting to off myself in brooklyn (and their servers are in argentina.)
JOY -
nope, outta my league.
-
Me too. I pretend to be a tech person but I suck at life.
-
www.yousendit.com
It's an enormous FTP site. It might be a 10mb limit for the free site, though.
Nope. It's 100mb. Upload the file there, enter the email address you want it to go to. Your client will receive an email that says "click here to view your files" or something like that. You owe me. -
can you upload it to a website, that they could then download it from?
-
That's not too big for FTP, unless the FTP server is specifically configured to not let you upload files that large.
You could also use something like AIM/Trillian/ICQ to send it.
Or Windows Remote Desktop Connection.
Or if the file isn't confidential you could upload to my server and the client could download from there.
Or a bazillion other options. -

This is what I'm thinking. 28mb isn't that big. FTPs are designed to be a dumping spot. -
right, I was thinking this one:
http://rapidshare.com/ -
Both the clients FTP and my FTP time out when loading it, I have no idea. I've used both before and its worked fine
I do RDC in but their security is STUPID and no one (including them) can manage to tell me how to access my local drives
I think I'm gonna split it into two files, zip it, email it to myself, get on RDC retrieve it and remake it in word on the server.
So
stupid
moug- you comin to the hoff or what -
To enable local access for RDC go to
Remote Desktop Connection->Options->Local Resources->More and check the local drives that you want to access. Press OK then connect as you normally would.
I could come at around 6:30-6:45 -

Very well, PM sent.
-
I might be in depending on whether Mrs C is into it when she gets home. But it would probably be after 7.
-
hopefully you got this solved, but why would rapidshare not work?
what about gspace? of course, your client would have to install gspace on their computer, but it's a pretty simple firefox addon. assuming they use firefox.
put it on the flash drive and overnight fed ex it.
yea. -
I was actually considering overnighting it.
The problem is the client is HUGE (meaning there will be about 200 offices accessing this) and i can't be sure everyone is tech savvy enough to use anything "interesting" to access or read it...it basically has to be sitting on their desktop to open it.
I did end up breaking it into smaller files, zipping and emailing.
Stupid work -
