Sullivan Place Rogers Avenue?

Hey all, sorry to keep doing this, but I've got an appointment to look at an apartment at Sullivan Place and Rogers Avenue, and I'm relying on my DH peeps to fill me in 'cause I don't know that area very well. Is it safe/quiet/near services/etc.?

    Well, that was depressing.

    Just in case anyone else is curious about the area, it seemed fairly run-down -- lots of trash blowing around in the streets, lots of apartments with old stained sheets tacked up in lieu of curtains, etc. The super didn't answer the door or his phone, so I didn't get to see the apartment, but it seemed sketchy and I would imagine walking home late at night would be scary.

    I know I already posted in the classifieds, but if ANY of you know of any one-bedroom places that are rent stabilized in a safe area, please do let me know.

    I'm going to go have a good cry and make myself a cocktail now.

    I went to junior high school around there and it was scary a lifetime ago good luck with your search!

    Aren't there OK deals to be found in Prospect Lefferts Gardens? Sullivan and Rogers is basically north of Ebbets Field -- not a lot going on there.

    I'd look closer to the B/Q train at Prospect Park or even Parkside stations. More people. But I'd choose carefully.
