Subject: great question, i would like to know too!
someone post up... or maybe we could start our own???? -
I would love to play some softball!! Maybe a DH league with a Prospect Heights Team, a Park Slope team, a Clinton Hill team, etc. Im more than willing to help out and organize (on weekends or after work).
-
there's a long-running women's league in the slope, plays in the park. keep lookin around for info.
-
I'd be up for softball anytime if we're talking coed. I'm not the best, but I played in a fairly competitive regular game last year and had great fun.
-
I don't have time to organize anything, but I will play. I am not the best but have played for 20 years so I want to keep going even though I moved in NY. I will look into the Park Slope woman's leauge. Thanks!!

What I got involved in last summer was basically a weekly pickup game. It would be cool to do the same thing in Prospect park once a week, either Saturday or Sunday morning, or better yet on a weekday and then get drinks afterward.

I am up for that. It would have to be the same time each week, due to my crazy schedule. -
Well for those of you interested, what times work for you? If it's on the weekend Saturday is preferable to me, though we'll have to scramble for space. I am also good for weekedays as I set my own hours, tuesday and thursday late afternoon/evenings are ideal.
If we can get a consensus of a few, we can start looking for more people and maybe plan a little throw around a few weeks from now.

I'd be interested, although it's been several years since I've swung a bat. I think I still remember how...
-
weather is supposed to be nice Saturday. Anyone interested in throwing a ball around. May be the beginning of a regular thing?
-
I would love to but I have a full day. Maybe next time if it isn't on a Saturday. Were is a near by sporting goods store to get a glove at or should I try Target?
-
Sport Prospect on 7th Avenue around 11th Street has gloves-or, there is a l's across the street from Target.
-
What about Triangle? I've never been in there, but...
-
Yep-Triangle is the other place I was trying to think of-why in the world did this program block out the word M o d e l l s ?
You are going to be very hard pressed to get a field on a Saturday in the warm months-the little leagues and other leagues hold permits for them. if someone with a permit shows up-you have to get off the field. My husband plays on a softball team that started as a pick up during the week-the last couple of years they have gotten permits for Tuesday nights for one of the fields because they got tired of not being able to play.
I am not at all athletic-but, good luck to the rest of you! -
tryouts for the prospect park women's softball league start next weekend (march 18). info is here: http://ppwsl.org
and i just got a decent glove at target - although it may have been the last adult-sized one. you might have to wait for a restock (like that ever happens at that target). -
I thought I would give this a bump and see if there was some more interest now that its springlike
-
I would love to play as well.
It might be good on like a Tuesday or Thursday.
Less people I think.
Weekends are nuts out there in the park.
So if anyone else wants to...
Or ultimate frisbee?
Great game, a lot of exercise. -

great exercise
anyone else interested?
i got a growler of Rogue Mogul. 64oz. 9.5% alcohol
from Bierkraft, that i can bring -
I'm nursing a couple of nasty running injuries but I could go for some ultimate. I've played a couple of times, fun!
-
Does anyone have an interest in playing during the week?
Monday , Tuesday, Thursday evenings?
It going to be lighter later, and the weekends are crazy.
Should we PM each other if we want to play?
Any ideas? -
Could be fun, and I think I can swing it schedule wise, if evenings or w/e.
-
I actually prefer tuesday and thursday rather than the weekend. I say we just pick a day and try to get a group together, and go from there. I bet if we do it a couple of times we will have more than enough people pretty quickly.
I will now return to my pessemistic self. -
I just got back from a softball game in the park run by the Slacker Softball League: http://www.slackersoftballleague.com/players/join.html
I had a great time - everyone was very friendly, and the atmosphere was non-competitive. Hopefully I'll be able to make it again next Friday! -
Hey Daniel...
I was there, guy in the red tank top and white bandana. Who were you? It is a good time guys.

I was wearing jeans + a green t-shirt with a Vancouver Canucks hat. I was on the Fall team, and played mostly third base with a visit to left field late in the game. There were two guys in my game who had on red tank tops, but the white bandanna doesn't ring a bell...

Well we played against each other in the first game, I was on the spring team. I played first base the whole game. Did you play the 2nd game, someone in Jeans mentioned to me he should have worn shorts.
Either way, good to meet you. -
Ah, blast it that looks like fun, but Friday during the day is not an option. Oh well.
Howdy, Stranger!
