  • What's a thread without a little name calling, right flo?
  • Obamanut wrote: Bravo, "flo."
And may I add I love your stellar use of quotation marks. So biting! Way to go, "Obamanut".
  • Obamanut wrote: [quote=Flo]I wonder if some on this thread have ever heard of the book "A Confederacy of Dunces"? (Not saying that book has any relation to this topic, just something about a meeting of the minds on this thread that brought the title to mind.)

Your anecdote was cute Stacey. There's a lot of talk back and forth on this board about being "real" or keeping it real, so it's always a pleasure for me to hear what I consider a real voice coming through. Even the dunces can hear it.
When all else fails, call the natives and minorities "dunces" and you will be sure to garner a few nasal laughs from the Park Slope peanut gallery every time. Bravo, "flo."

I also like how you dropped in a comment about how you find a completely unrelated article (that you undoubtedly dug up just for purposes of this thread) about water issues in Ghana "more interesting" than armchair's article; way to show how highbrow, intellectual and culturally informed you are, flo!
    =D>
Unfortunately, none among us "dunces" are intelligent enough to grasp the extent of your worldliness.

O-nut--I admire your attempt to say that I called the natives and the minorities dunces. I think it's clear that I was speaking in specific about some of the people on this particular thread and also that I was joking, but if it wasn't, well then consider yourself personally called a dunce. (If I want to call natives or minorities something, I think I'll actually do it myself and not wait for you to do it for me.)

As for digging up the article for the thread, it was actually on the same site that Armchair's original post linked to, so it didn't take any digging on my part. Just a click. (Come on O-nut. You're sharp. You gotta pay a little more attention.)

As for wordliness, I think it was you that made that claim or do you not read or remember your own posts? I think it was you who said "Myself, having been around the world, often wonder about women (especially from relatively homogeneous countries) who seek out men of another race just a little too enthusiastically." Nothing more worldly than having been around the world.

Myself, I can only claim wordiness.

Balls in your court, O-nut.
  • A-pants..consider yourself in the confederacy too. :D
  • Confederacy of PWNED. Hard.

But Flo, speaking as a mod, please try to avoid the personal attacks.

no warning to ham for calling someone a asshole? lol
  • armchair_warrior wrote: no warning to ham for calling someone a asshole? lol
I didn't think it was clear who he was even speaking to. Also mods can't be aware of every post in every thread at all times. If anyone ever thinks someone is breaking the rules, they can always PM a mod or admin with a link to the post.
  • Who doesn't love a big dick?

    I'm just sayin' ;-)

My middle class Jewish cousin went out with a guy from Kenya for 3 years. She mentioned to me that part of her attraction for him was that her grandfathers hated the fact that the was black.

The truth is never rude, the truth just is. Get over it.
A statistical sample consisting of one single individual would not be accepted as "proof" of "truth" by any statistician or demographic study that I know of.

Carni- Consider this my apology to A-pants and O-nut for calling them dunces. In my defense I will say that from reading their postings I think they have established themselves both as full grown adults with their own sharp tongues and I would think they are tough enough to handle a little ribbing. But I get that sometimes things go a little too far and it is a much better policy to criticize the argument and not the person.

I will try to follow the rules of the board better in the future though Carni. My apology is sincere.
  • elohssa, is actually an African greeting, for desperate and homely British women who have to go to the jungle for sex.

Guffaw, which I think is american for I just pissed in my pants because you made me laugh hard.
And now I want to see that film that was out a few years back on this topic, (drama not documentary) but I can't remember the title.
  • There was something on TV a few years ago, which I believe was 60 minutes, that showed middle aged Brits., who were going to Africa for some jungle love .
They were not very desirable and at that moment ,I fully realized the true meaning of a mercy hump.

If Stevie Wonder touched one of their faces,he would have thrown up.
  • Yowch.

There's an expression about bumping uglies, no? Since it's V-day, here's to hoping that we're all bumping some uglies tonight, whatever our age and ranking on the hotness scale. I have a soft spot for the idea of the wrinkled masses getting it on until they drop dead, literally. Never mind middle-aged loving..I'm talking about some serious senior-citizen sex.

I guess that could be classified as coming and going at the same time.

right conveniently spell asshole backwards. its like me saying deahkicd is an african good bye saying.
  • deahkicd, might be.
  • Queen,

"A statistical sample consisting of one single individual" describes every member on this forum. If you disagree with what I have written and the experience it represents, you are going to have to do better then criticize me for representing only one person. As I have said before in this thread, experiences just are - they are not right or wrong. They just exist.
