I don't have that kind of job. I've been at my current job for 5 years and I've never called out sick once.
  • What you mean is that you don't have that attitude.
  • hmmmm.. ok .. i'll try & show up

i have some work to do.. but i'll try
  • I lost most of my sick days because I didn't use them. I went to work the day of and the day after my spinal tap with a migraine that blinded me. I guess I don't have that attitude either.

I always used my sick time, but I just just a exec asst, not saving lives or anything. Now that I am laid off, I am soo happy I did use them. It's not like you can take them with you when you go.
  • I know. My own stupidity for not using them.
  • I just remembered Nicky's Vietnamese Sandwiches are on Atlantic. Great to go option for a bite to eat.
  • I have not had hot water since yesterday morning and my landlord just hung up on me when I called to complain. So I may be stinky, but I'm still coming.

Meh. Kind of the same thing. If I didn't have that kind of attitude, I wouldn't have that kind of job. Also, my sick days don't expire, so I can continue to accumulate them in case of some kind of catastrophe.
  • I work for a freak company. We only get five sick days and two personal days, you can't carry them over. Come December 31, you're screwed out of them. Also, you can't take ONE vacation day. You have to take all of them in a row, but no more than one week at a time. Plus, you max out at 3 weeks after 5 years. So if you've been there for 20 years, you still only get 3 weeks of vacation. I think McDonald's has a better policy than that. I keep telling myself to be optimistic and that the economy will turn in the next 3-5 years and I can get the hell out of there!

Wait, so if you go 3 years without taking a single sick day, but then need surgery and are out for 3 weeks, you don't get paid for the second and third week? That's BULLSHIT! If I had a job like that, I'd probably make sure to use all my sick days every year too. Your office must be empty in December.
  • They'll pay you for the second week - provided you haven't taken any vacation at all. The third week, you're on your own. Yep, come December, the office is like a ghost town.

To be back on topic, this is why I drink. :)
  • As usual I will be running late. It's a far way to walk!

  • Not that there's anything wrong with an amputee fetish. Do your thing.
