Subject: Count me in!
I'd definitely be interested in playing on the 19th. Now if I can only find my cleats...
cheers,
Michele -

What area of the park are we meeting in? And someone has a ball right?
Even though I can't play at all I am strangely excited! -
I have a ball and I definitly will be there. One thing that kinda stinks though is that there is the PHeights CSA meeting at Beast at 2:30 on the same day
Is there any chance to make the game a little earlier or later (I know I know, everyone has to change their lives for me)
We probably will be meeting in the big meadow somewhere not too muddy (last time was quite precarious with all the slipping and sliding). And possibly somewhere near a tree (if the weather is nice) so that my dog can hang out too
The weather looks about 45 degrees and windy for Sunday, so far not bad! -

right now the weather forecast has this coming weekend as being sunny, in the 40's and a little windy

I am not trying to be funny or anything quijobo, but did you see the post I just put up right before yours? Maybe we both wrote them at the exact same time. Woah, major psychic connection (Cleo - you are amazing!) -

you guys might have some issues with Sunday. thats the day of the Brooklyn Half Marathon, that ends in Prospect Park. Not sure if it will interfere with your plans or not.

Google is telling me that the race is on Saturday. Either way, anyone who hasn't reached the park by 2pm will be easy to dodge, because their racing speed is 2mph (race starts at 8am).

You will be missed, jayce.
I'll bring an extra ball and a pump. -

i was kinda surprised by that too.
we wrote ours at the same exact time! -
Forecast for Sunday is mostly sunny with a high of 44. Not fantastic, but warm enough to run around in.

Can we get a roll call of people still interested in playing, and a preference for 2pm or, say noon?
Is there any chance to make the game a little earlier or later (I know I know, everyone has to change their lives for me)
I'm in, and I'll bring my ball and dark blue jersey. Maybe we should meet again near the benches in the first meadow, and move off in search of a field position after about 15 minutes? -
2pm on Sunday sounds good to me, but if not, I'll come out for the next game.
-
My roomie (Julie and I) are still in. I am not sure where the bleachers are, can you give more specific directions to them??

Benches -- if you enter the park from GAP, head straight down into the meadow where the road splits (~200ft from the entrance) -- there are a few paths that cut through the bushes. Where that path reaches the meadow, there are a few benches.Maybe we should meet again near the benches in the first meadow
Thanks
Would anybody come out at noon? It may give us more time in the sun, and allow Sandra Dee to make it. -
Can't at noon, we are going to watch a bit of the parade on PPW.
-
merde! i can't make it today

got a brunch date at 1pm
priorities man! -

Ok, looks like we'll have at least 4-5. See you guys at 2! -
My Minnesotan wants in.
She doesn't really know how to play, but she's sporty and kills at touch football. Isn't that enough?
Also can't make it at 2p today. Put me on your PM list if this soccer team goes private... -
So NicoleM, her housemate and I kicked around for about an hour, but that was it. It was fun to get out and work up a little sweat (it was not too cold down in the meadow -- the trees blocked the wind)... BUT WE NEED MORE PEOPLE.
Would it help to wait a few weeks until it gets warmer?
We got invited to join a game by some rastas playing nearby, but they were way too serious. like every play turned into a shouting match. -

I know at least two guys that play in the park, and I can't imagine us joining them since they actually know how to play. Were you on the long meadow (or whatever that first long field is when you come in from GAP) or over down along the Flatbush side?
Anyway, My Minnesotan has potential for the Sunday after next (Sunday Apr 2), and she plays in cold weather. Again, does skill level in this *particular* sport have anything to do with it? -

We were in the front of the meadow closest to the GAP entrance. As for skill -- I think we're aiming for technical ability in the elementary/middle school range (that's when most of us last played).

I think I only have one free weekend in April, so I'm not sure when to push to get another game together -- but I'll probably be out kicking in the park again next Sunday. -
Hi Everyone!
I came too late I think today. I got stuck on the trains in Manhattan and then didn't make it to the park until 3:30pm. I brought my ball and my dog but saw no soccer players (except the rastas). Oh well, too bad
Maybe when the weather warms up just a few degrees it will make a huge difference. I know my peeps were too cold to come today. Well lates stay in touch! -
Subject: This Sunday?
Are people interested in kicking a ball around on Sunday? Around 1pm? It looks like it should be a nice day. -
